So I was wondering about the MTRs which say
"If a player gains control of another player, they may not look at that player’s sideboard, nor may they have that player access their sideboard."
I know that it used to be possible to just look at the opposing sideboard when controlling their turn, and this is no longer possible, right?
But the MTR also forbid any possibility to look at the opposing sideboard? So if I cast an Emrakul, the Promised End while my opponent controls a Karn, the Great Creator, there is no way for me to -2 for a detrimental card? (i.e. a Pithing Needle?)
Is that correct?

Sometimes those with the most sin cast the first stones.
720.4. If information about an object in the game would be visible to the player being controlled, it’s visible to both that player and the controller of the player. If information about cards outside the game would be visible to the player being controlled, it’s visible only to that player, not the controller of the player.
Second sentence really shuts down that idea. You could -2 and fail to find, or grab something face-up in exile, but that's about it.
