"If the creature card leaves the graveyard before the delayed triggered ability resolves, that card won't return to the battlefield, even if it's back in the graveyard when the delayed triggered ability resolves."
Since Marchesa's ability is an on death ability, why does the creature not return to the battlefield if it leaves the graveyard before the end step? I would have thought that as long as the delayed trigger conditions are met (creature died, at start of end step it's in a graveyard) the ability would resolve.
I would appreciate any specific ruling links as I was trying to find what exact rule determined this and could not. I assume it's something to do with how delayed triggers work?

In general, an object that moves from one zone to another becomes a different object in its new zone (C.R. 400.7). Marchesa's last ability is an exception to this rule in that, if it triggers for a creature, it can find the object that the creature becomes in the graveyard (C.R. 400.7e). The ability, however, will lose track of that card if that object then leaves the graveyard for any reason before the ability resolves.
