Hi first time posting. I just built a Krenko, Mob Boss EDH deck after watching some gameplay online and really enjoying it. During the videos I noticed that they will cast Krenko on their turn and then activate his ability on the end step/start of their next turn, untap him during untap step, before tapping him again in Main Phase 1 or Main Phase 2. When I tried to do this in my play group a discussion started that Krenko was affected by summoning sickness until my untap step, so I wouldn't be able to activate him, untap him and then activate him again on his first turn on the battlefield. So my question is when exactly does summoning sickness end for a creature? If I played him turn four, and on the end of the player's turn (start of turn 5) in front of me, can I tap him at that point, untap him during my untap step and then use him to either attack or for his ability later in that turn? TIA
A creature has summoning sickness unless it has been under your control since the start of your turn or your last turn if it is someone elses turn. More than likely the video you watched had some form of haste giver like hall of the bandit lord.
