kicker is an additional cost, right ?
so can powerstone token (from Karn, Living Legacy) be used to pay for the kicker or does it still count into the casting of a colored spell ?
I've edited your post to add the name of the card that produces the tokens you're talking about. In the future, please name and tag the cards you're referring to, even if they are unreleased as of yet. Thanks! -MadMage
If mana can't be spent "to cast a nonartifact spell", it can't be spent to pay any part of that spell's total cost (C.R. 601.2h). (And figuring the total cost involves not just the mana cost, but also additional costs such as kicker [C.R. 601.2f, 702.33a].)
(Note that a colored spell is not necessarily a nonartifact spell, and vice versa [C.R. 301.4].)
111.10h: A Powerstone token is a colorless Powerstone artifact token with “{T}: Add {C}. This mana can’t be spent to cast a nonartifact spell.”
It seems that Karn, Mishra, and The Mana Rig's Powerstones are all "Worn", however. (a la Worn Powerstone)
That's true; the new Karn was the main example known at the time of the question (two months ago; granted, The Mana Rig was spoiled shortly after), but I knew that other cards were going to make Powerstone tokens. The point was to show a reference card for those tokens, but I should have written something like "e.g." rather than just "from" and say in my mod message "the name of a card" rather than "the" card.
Now, this conversation is tangential to the rules question that was asked, and since that question was answered clearly, I'm going to lock the thread to avoid it derailing.
I'm a former judge (lapsed), who keeps up to date on rules and policy. Keep in mind that judges' answers aren't necessarily more valid than those of people who aren't judges; what matters is we can quote the rules to back up our answers. When in doubt, ask for such quotes.

It turns out:
