If in a mono-red deck, I control a Stolen Strategy, which happens to exile a converge spell such as Bring to Light; can the "spend mana as thought it were mana of any color" part pay for all 5 colors Bring to Light could potentially allow, or does that clause only allow to pay the spell's required colors, i.e. UGRRR??
In this case, the phrase "colors of mana spent to cast [this spell]" refers to the colors of mana actually spent to cast that spell, even if it was spent as though it were mana of a different type (C.R. 609.4b). The mana is treated "as though it were mana of any color" only for the purposes of Stolen Strategy's effect, not for other purposes, such as those of Bring to Light (C.R. 609.4). Thus, for example, if you spend RRGGU to cast Bring to Light, the "number of colors of mana spent to cast [Bring to Light]" is 3, even if an effect let you spend that mana as though it were mana of a different type.
Note that converge is an ability word, so has no inherent meaning in the rules (C.R. 207.2c).
In essence can I tutor for a 5c card or 3c?
Thanks in advance!
