To my understanding, Solemnity would stop the +1/+1 counter replacement effect caused by any number of Bramblewood Paragon. But last night, opponent had 2 Solemnity and I had 3 Bramblewood Paragon on board. I played an elf/warrior and after all the replacement effects, the elf entered with one +1/+1 counter. Is this how "can" and "can't" replacement effects happen (canceling each other out)? Or was this an error on xmage's end?
101.2. When a rule or effect allows or directs something to happen, and another effect states that it can’t happen, the “can’t” effect takes precedence.
Example: If one effect reads “You may play an additional land this turn” and another reads “You can’t play lands this turn,” the effect that precludes you from playing lands wins.
Solemnity's "Counters can't be put on artifacts, creatures, enchantments, or lands." doesn't turn off if any other counters got forbidden this turn (or even seconds ago). It would need a phrasing like Shimmering Glasskite to work that way.

Why bother with mere rulings when so many answers can be found in the Rules?
