My question is regarding: Yurlok of Scorch Thrash Mana Short
and Shizuko, Caller of Autumn
Both the other cards are printed to say they don't cause Mana burn, however, their oracle text doesn't include this clause. How do these cards affect Yurlok and why? Everyone I talked to argued for the printed card wording.
Yurlok doesn't cause mana burn either. Mana Burn doesn't exist and Yurlok doesn't make it exist so even with their printed wordings, that clause would be irrelevant.
Yurlok *emulates* mana burn. It is not mana burn. So go ahead and let your friends play with the printed wording (though that isn't ever how cards work; the oracle text is the real text): the printed wording makes no difference here.
Yurlok only cares that a player loses Mana. If a player doesn't spend it, they lose it. Mana short and Drain power causes a player to lose that Mana triggering Yurlok. Shizuko adds that Mana and it will trigger Yurlok of that player doesn't use that Mana.

Clarification: Yurlok's effect is not a triggered ability. It doesn't use the stack and cannot be interacted with.
