I have been playing with Krark, the Thumbless, but more and more questions arise.
1. How does Krark react with spells cast from any zone other than the hand? Will his ability trigger? And if the coin flip fails where does the card go?
2. If you cast a copy, like with God-Eternal Kefnet does that interact with Krark? Will he be able to copy the casted copy?
I love his ability and want to run him as a commander, but haven't been able to find much input on these interactions.
1) It only matters, that the spell gets cast. From where or for what cost is irrelevant. If an instant or sorcery spell gets cast, Krark triggers. When the trigger resolves, you just follow its instructions. "Return" is just the default word used for the action, but the card will go to the zone it is sent to even if it didn*t come from there.
2) Same as 1), the important thing is, that the copy gets cast. Simply creating a copy of a spell won't cause a trigger as copies of spells are created directly on the stack. But copies of cards are created in the same zone the original is in, and the effect usually gives further instructions as to what to do with the copy. If it gets cast, you get a trigger. Note, that a copy is not represented by a card, so returning it to the hand will make it cease to exist.
