I noticed SG's wording didn't go through errata the same as many others, such as Abduction, i.e., "put into graveyard" didn't get changed to "dies", why is that?
Sorry this isn't quite a ruling question but more of curiosity.
"Dies" is only used for creatures or planeswalker - it's not designed to be a catch all for anything that goes to the graveyard from the battlefield. For instance, cards like Brought Back and Retributive Wand don't use the word "die" or "dies" either.

Scientists have calculated that the chance of anything so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one. But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.
Also, using the term "dies" would change the functionality of the card. Sacred Ground triggers only if a land card is put into your graveyard from the battlefield (caused by a spell or ability your opponent controls). It won't trigger, if the card goes to another player's graveyard. But with the "dies" terminology, the enchantment would trigger. And it would trigger for all lands that are put into graveyards by spells and abilities your opponents control.
700.4. The term dies means “is put into a graveyard from the battlefield.”
