I'm curious if Fiery Confluence would destroy Siegehorn Ceratops if you chose the 1 damage to each creature mode three times. Would the ceratops get counters after each instance of damage or would it die before getting the counters?
The Ceratops has a normal triggered ability. It has to wait until the next time a player would receive priority to even be put on the stack. So it has to wait until Fiery Confluence has fully resolved and state based actions have been dealt with. Meaning, at the time the Ceratops's triggers make it to the stack, it is already dead. When they resolve, it is long gone and cannot receive counters.
Note, that because of how this works, choosing the first mode twice will suffice to kill it. You can chose another mode as the third.
