Hey I'm pretty sure on this one but figured it could use and idiot check.
Let's say I'm playing a game of EDH with Inalla, archmage ritualist as my commander. I cast realmwright and copy it with Inalla's ability. I chose swamps with the cast realmwright and mountains with the copied realmwright. Even though the copy disappears at end of turn, because I have the original in play do my lands now count as all three basic land types, or only two?
Edit: the third type obviously being islands - which for arguments sake are the only land in play
Realwright has a static ability that only works as long as it is on the battlefield and each instance is separate so if you name Mountain with the copy and it leaves the field you will no longer have the added mountain suptype.
Realmwright has what are called linked abilities. The second ability only functions because it is linked to the first ability. No other choices made for any other abilities including similar abilities on other cards named Realmwright impact what the second ability does. So your lands will only have the type chosen by your clone as long as the clone exists. The original Realmwright won't see that other (Past, Present, or Future)Realmwrights have chosen lands. Otherwise, the same Realmwright could be bounced over and over again to get all land types.
1- You may be under the impression that effects from the original Realmwright are somewhat transfered to and from the effects from the copy; they aren't. As previous posters explained, each Realmwright is its own individual object with its own individual effects. (rule 706.7)
2- You may be unsure about the duration of Realmwright's ability, as opposed to the duration of a resolved ability: effects from resolved abilities/spells last for their stated duration (Reef Shaman) or last forever (Alter Reality) when no duration is specified. These are covered by rule 611.2a. Realmwright has a static ability (rules 113.3d & 607); as Genini2 explained, these last only as long as the object remains on the battlefield. (rule 611.3b)
