Opponent controls a Kothophed, Soul Hoarder and Exquisite Archangel and is at 1 health. I control an Oblivion Stone. I go to activate the O stone's second ability. Kothophed's ability will trigger in response to the Oblivion Stone sacrifice. Would Kothophed's ability be on the stack above or below the O-Stone's? If it occurs after, my opponent loses but if it occurs before, the Exquisite Archangel resets opponent's life total, correct?
Any trigger that goes off during the activation process of an ability or during the process of casting a spell is necessarily be put on top of that ability/spell on the stack. Because putting that ability/spell on the stack is the very first thing in the process of activating/casting.
This means, that yes, Kothophed would make the opponent lose and the Archangel will save him. Then Oblivion Stone clears the board and Kothophed triggers again for every other permanent of yours that is put into the graveyard due to this.
