Assuming I control a Shield of the Realm and a Palisade Giant and the shield is equipped.
My opponent swings with 10 2/2 creatures, I leave them unblocked. Does each source of damage strike Palisade resulting in no damage, or, does the replacement effect combine the damage into 20, whereas I take 18 to the Giant?
If it's the second, what would the source of the damage be?
Thanks, been digging for about 30 minutes and just kept coming up with the same 3 questions that didn't answer mine.
Giant redirects all damage to itself.
Still, each attacking creature is a separate source of damage, and Shield cares about sources.
Net result: all damage is prevented.
