What colour is pyroblast that sits in my hand? is it blue+red, or colourless (or something else)? Can i use the pyroblast, burning U, to blast my opponent's taiga?
So i have a feeling i know what the answer is - depends on timestamps, right?
On the same layer that affects colour (whatever that is), depending on which one entered play first, it is the second that applies, right? So if the lattice is welded in after painter, everything is colourless and an artifact. And the other is true if painter comes in afterwards.
Both effects always apply. Timestamp defines their order.
If Lattice entered last, you apply Painter first, then Lattice. Everything is colorless.
If Painter entered last, you apply Lattice first, then Painter. Everything will be blue and no other color, because Lattice removed their color before Painter painted them blue.
So in the colour layer, if lattice comes down first, lattice removes all colour (opponent's taiga is colourless and is an artifact land), then painter paints them blue (opponent's taiga is now a blue artifact land), so my pyroblast can hit it, and i can pay U to pay for the blast's mana.
Cheers for that! I guess i'll need to be a lot more wary with my sequencing with welder and stuff like that.

Correct.
The other effects of Lattice still work. The type changing is on another layer and nothing else is applying there, and the mana effect is not something that even uses layers.
