Hi, an opponent's Serra Angel has been on the battlefield for a few turns already. I cast confiscate on the angel on first main phase. Can I attack with the angel right away, or do I have to wait for my next turn?
You have to wait, because the Angel is now summoning sick. A creature is summoning sick, if the permanent hasn't been under its controller's continuous control since his or her most recent turn began. How long the creature has been around or how long it has been a creature is not relevant for this. You did not control the Angel when your turn (thus your most recent turn) began, so it is summoning sick.
302.6. A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can’t be activated unless the creature has been under its controller’s control continuously since their most recent turn began. A creature can’t attack unless it has been under its controller’s control continuously since their most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the “summoning sickness” rule.

We have been testing our decks over here, and this situation has come up several times already with large creatures being taken by confiscate.
