So say someone opened with Leyline of Singularity
Cool everything is Legendary.
I play my Sacred Cat and its adorable
Not worried about embalming because the token would 100% kill another living kitty thanks to the legendary rule
But what happens if I drop a Helm of the host on it and start spiting out Legendary/NonLegendary kittens all over the place?
Does the isn't trump the is?
Is the cat alive or dead?
...
I think I just killed a bunch of cats guys send help
Your cat and it's copiesare legendary so you will only get to keep one. Helm of the Host makes a non-legendary token, that is made legendary by Leyline once it blinks into existence.
Helm of the Host creates a copy and makes a modification to the copy process, making legendaries nonlegendary. This happens in layer 1, the copy layer. The Leyline adds a supertype to the tokens, legendary, which happens in layer 4. Since you go through the layers in order when determining an object's characteristics, the token starts out as nonlegendary, then becomes legendary.
