Can Squee, The Immortal be cast from exile even if it's been exiled face-down by bomat courier, memory jar etc, or does its owner technically have to be able to see the card and not simply know it's in the zone from which they want to cast it? Thanks
It needs to be face up or it does not have any characteristics even in Exile. Especially in the case of something like Bomat Courier since you would have no idea that Squee is even exiled (since you are not allowed to look at the face down cards). Memory Jar would potentially allow you to know it is exiled since it came from your hand, but you still cannot cast it from exile since it is face down.
406.3. Exiled cards are, by default, kept face up and may be examined by any player at any time. Cards "exiled face down" can't be examined by any player except when instructions allow it. However, once a player is allowed to look at a card exiled face down, that player may continue to look at that card as long as it remains exiled, even if the instruction allowing the player to do so no longer applies. A card exiled face down has no characteristics, but the spell or ability that exiled it may allow it to be played from exile. Unless that card is being cast face down (see rule 707.4), the card is turned face up just before the player announces that they are playing the card (see rule 601.2).
Thanks. I realize that normally one can't know if a particular card has been put into exile via bomat courier, but figured that perhaps if another card revealed the top card of the library to all players or allowed it's owner to look at it temporarily prior to the exiling, that knowledge might be sufficient for casting it once it's changed zones.

In general, under C.R. 406.3a, a "card exiled face down has no characteristics" as far as the game is concerned, regardless of whether a player is allowed to look at that card while in exile, and regardless of whether the identity of that card was known to any player before it was exiled face down.
