A question the Godsend says; Whenever the equipped creature blocks or is blocked by one or more creatures, you can exile one of these creatures.
Your opponents can not cast spells with the same name as an exiled card with Godsend. My question is let's say that the creature with the sword is 5/5 and the defender is 7/7, the creature is exiled 7/7 before it damage, once the defenders of the opponent are declared
Godsend's ability triggers when blockers are declared in the Declare Blockers Step, and it will resolve on that same step, so it always happens before the Combat Damage Step. The 7/7 is exiled before it can deal combat damage to the 5/5.
it is, however, important to note that it WAS declared as a Blocker, and therefore GodsendThe Creature Equipped with Godsend still counts as blocked, even though the blocker was exiled.
