Okay so the card Odric, Lunarch Marshal in which eh grants a bunch of keyword to your creature so long as you already have that keyword ona creature until end of turn.
So if I have a card like Dragonlord Ojutai (Which has Hexpoof so on as it is untapped) My understanding would be that All my creature would gain hexproof, even if I tap Ojutai to attack. As the Hexproof no longer checks to see if Ojutai is tapped since he has hexproof form Odric at this point.
Am i correct in my thinking or would the Tapped Ojutai still lose hexproof?
Card names fixed so that tags work. You have to spell the names correctly for the tags to be of any use. -MadMage
You are correct. Odric triggers in the beginning of combat and checks everything only at that time. Tapping Ojutai after that will not remove hexproof from your creatures.
See C.R. 608.2g, which provides that "(i)f an effect requires information from the game", such as which creatures have hexproof, "the answer is determined only once, when the effect is applied", that is in this case, when Odric's ability resolves (C.R. 608.2c). In effect, when Odric's ability resolves while Ojutai is untapped, Ojutai gains, until end of turn, another instance of hexproof that is independent of the instance Ojutai has while it's untapped (C.R. 112.2c).
The tapped Ojutai will lose its 'natural' hexproof, but will keep the hexproof given by Odric.
Odric gives abilities to ALL your creatures, including the ones which made it possible; some creatures will therefore have two instances of first strike, flying, deathtouch, etc.
