the main group I play with is pretty casual and they don't use commander damage as a win con. Never really asked why but assuming to eliminate fast Voltron strats. I feel that mass land destruction is pretty cheesy in EDH. instant win cards or combos are pretty unfun in edh for casual.
I'll look into other casual ways and get back to this thread when I find other ideas
Casual EDH isn't about power, it's about consistency. Ban the efficient tutors and Sol Ring/Mana Vault/Mana Crypt, as well as ABUR duals.
Reliable tutors will turn a low probability combo casual deck into a fun killing, competitive table wiper fairly quickly. Getting a combo of 2-3 cards in a 100 card deck is quite improbable. But if you add multiple tutors to the mix you'll see those combos go off fairly frequently.

They are discussing a few thing they should change for casual edh
The only locks so far is no infinite combos and possibly laboratory maniac is banned
I thought I would get more opinions from people of what could help make casual edh fun and we are in a way allowing powerful cards and combos
What are some ideas to help casual
No landkill beyond a single-use Wasteland, say. This includes no Annihilator, etc.
No hard locks or Stax decks. Possibly no ‘extreme control’ either.
Probably no Infect, because people get funny about that one.
No ultra-fast aggro strategies.
Basically, EDH: the Midranging.

Competitive EDH: Pay in, prize pay-out based on winning.
Casual EDH: Pay in, prize pay-out based on players voting for coolest deck/best sport (you can't vote for yourself).
Corrupt Control B | Burn R | UG Turbofog UG | White Weenie W | GW Tethmos WG | BG Cycling Combo BG
Enchantress GBW | Colorless Tron C | Red Deck Wins R | UG Madness UG | Mono-G Tron G | UR Puzzlehorns UR
Rhystic Tron WU| WU Prowess WU | BR Reanimator BR | Mono-R Control R | Stompy G | Temur Tron URG
Mardu Infinite Priest WBR | 85-Card Dredge BRG | Elves GU | Boros Bully RW | Jeskai Familiars RWU
Ultra-fast aggro if fine, play Wrath of God if it's a problem.
Combo is fine, play Counterspell if it's a problem.
Mass Land Destruction is fine, simply because it is no more game-breaking than many other cards.
Stax is fine, because there is nothing inherently powerful about it. Same with extreme control.
Infect is fine, because it allows games to end and isn't especially powerful.
Annihilator is fine, because for the cost of Eldrazi you can get cards like Omniscience.
Casual EDH isn't about power, it's about consistency. Ban the efficient tutors and Sol Ring/Mana Vault/Mana Crypt, as well as ABUR duals.
Deal with it.
