I'm going to go against the grain a bit with Heavy Mattock. It evokes a sense of older-school Magic and card art and resonates with me because it reminds of time spent in the North Woods as a kid.
This is the reason why I chose 'favorite' in the thread title, rather than best, to encourage cool entries like this. It's avout choosing the card the appeals to you most for whatever reason, not trying to choose the 'best' of that artist.
Having said that, anyone who didn't vote for Bruna, Light of Alabaster was wrong!!! I kid, I kid. But Bruna was the winner
Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary or Planeswalker before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards Thou shalt not covet anything that is Ravnica's
Next up, Roger Raupp. I like to save artists of the past for spoiler season, but this also gives time for high quality images from the last two (or is it three?) releases to actually appear on MagicCards.info.
Voting will remain open for one week. Please choose one card only as your favourite by this artist, with as many honourable mentions as you like.
When voting you may also nominate an artist for us to cover in a future vote. Artists already covered (and their winning cards) are listed in the first post. Artists nominated but not yet covered; Jeff A. Menges.
