Encroach can be extremely devastating when followed up with something like Sinkhole or Hymn to Tourach. It's a helluva lot better than you're giving it credit for, because it's basically a one mana LD spell the majority of the time. It's just too limited in scope to see competitive play.
The worst card in magic: *drum roll* brushwagg!!!! He's well a brushwagg what is a brushwagg you say? A brushwagg is a porcupine looking like creature. He now is not brushwagg though hes a beast creature type. When he blocks he gets a -2/+2 or visa versa anyway hes still jank and still reserved. so thank goodness we wont be drafting this jank ever
My vote goes to Sorrow's Path. Has anyone ever found a use for it?
my understanding of Sorrow's Path is that two blocking creatures you control would just switch to block what the other one was blocking previously. it could possibly be useful. but, then again, i haven't seen it been used to the favor of the player using it even if he/she loses 2 life and deals 2 damage to each creature he/she controls...:sneaky:

It does so much damage to you when you use the effect, it couldn't possibly be useful. Say you want to switch a 3/4 being blocked by a 5/4 and a 2/2 being blocked by a 1/1. All your creatures, including possibly some you didn't attack with, would still die, and you'd take 2 points damage...
The Mark of Asylum will stop your Sorrow's Path from damaging your creature. Yes in this setup you will still take damage and the 2 creatures I chose don't die to 2 damage anyway, but you get the idea.
Then the Sorrow's Path allows you to trigger the Meglonoth's ability twice (potentially a lot of damage) and the Aether Membrane ability twice (bouncing opponent's two attackers at the end of combat).
Granted its not going to win you any tournaments in the older formats but its fun in casual
I still think Moonlace is the worst card every printed. Doubt I'll ever find a use for it.
i've had a foil eternal dominion in my binder for about 4 years, NO ONE wants it, it is horrible
I ran a U/G heavy control deck during Kami-Rav standard that used that thing as its finisher. It wasn't the best deck I've ever played, but it was fun to say "Stop hitting yourself" when I beat people to death with their own Dragons.
Just throwing Scornful Egotist out there. It's not fully comparable to the worst stuff out there, but it's probably #2 on the unefficient list after Wood Elemental.
Black Lotus is obviously the best card, but what would be the black lotus of the absolutely worst of the worst?
I think it might actually be Urza's Bauble.
You play it for 0, but you sac it to look at ONE card at RANDOM from another target player, then you draw a card at NEXT turn's upkeep. How crappy is that?
Urza bauble is actually VERY good, in a sense it lets you draw for Zero.
my bet would be any of the huge costing 6/6 w/ no effect cards, like Vizzerdrix
Sorrow's Path is by far the worst card in Magic. At least they knew what they were doing when they made One With Nothing. Sorrow's Path was designed to be a usable card, and all of the negatives (Pyroclasm my own guys? SURE) were put there to balance out the AWESOMENESS of being able to switch blockers.
Break Open is also pretty bad but is not mentioned as often in my experience. I also think RoP: Lands, Common Cause and Security Detail should get some more attention in these discussions. Man, Security Detail pisses me off.
One With Nothing. The card does nothing good. NOTHING. Everything it does, Putrid Imp does better. What good could it *ever* do for you?
Sorrow's Path can be used. It's bad, yes, but it can be used. Against death-touchy guys, if you have big creatures. Or something. OK, yeah it's awful, but I still think it is usable. I don't see how OwN (hahahahahahaha omfg) could be used.
My pick for the worst card ever is Bloodcurdler. It's horrible. Utterly useless, and at the rare slot probably made people furious when they opened it in a pack.
Add Apocalypse to the honorable mention list. I mean it is a sweeper, but discard your hand is a stiff penalty unless you have a way around it.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

I like the thought of Slithermuse + Apocalypse very much..."discard your hand" is a very easy drawback to overcome, not to mention that if you're running Apocalypse, you should also have a way to get advantage from "Remove all permanents", usually the Blinking Method.
A lot of you here are posting semi-decent cards...Bloodcurdler is a bad rare, but far from the worst card, and although I'd rather not defend One With Nothing it combos pretty well with Hive Mind.
For anyone's interest, I think starcitygames Ben Bleiweiss did a top 100 worst cards of Magic. Although it was some time ago so it doesn't contain recent cards.
Thanks, SB4!

Insane.
Sorrow's Path + Mark of Asylum +2 creatures which have abilities that trigger upon blocking
Such as:
Sorrow's Path + Mark of Asylum + Aether Membrane + Meglonoth

There's the nearly useless argument, the well overpriced side, and the hurts you idea.
My personal choice? Sorrow's Path
Honorable mentions which are always mentioned include:

Wonderful segue, but not relevant to the topic at hand. Warning for advertising.

Well...good for you but this is a thread for the worst cards
My vote goes to Sorrow's Path as well... just outright bad
One with Nothing can work with Madness abilities so at least it has some function. It can also make your Ensnaring Bridge that much more... ensnaring

Urza's Bauble + Yawgmoth's Will was a staple part of Steel Necro during saga block pre 6th.
