I started magic around ten years ago, my teens, late teens. I have a binary green white deck that's focused on life gain, counters and tokens. I was wondering if there were any recommendations on how to expand on this strategy, if anyone had a list of cards that I could potentially search for. I probably don't have very good cards, unlike in Yu Gi Oh and board games, which is just how things went, no two ways about it. I wish I had been playingh it since I learned of chess, war, spades solitaire, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon but and i got into RPG's online and into LARPING. Stuff you do as a child, similarr... anyway here are examples of cards I use to give you an Idea...
Elspeth the Suns Champion
Font of Fertility
Decree of Justice
Divine Favor
Seraph of Masses
Student of Ojutai
Brendal Boar (bare with me here)
Cards like Stalwart Aven
Generally creatures with abilities similar to those cards, and enchantments that aid me by tokens, life gain etc. Cards that either give me tokens, use convoke or add something like flying, creature tokens and then counters due to the number of token, and the number of cards I enchant end up allowing me to gain life. Or the number of creatures on the field with enchantments, or cards that allow me to gain life for sacrificing them or for the number of tokens and counters, artificats etc.
I was wondering if this is considered a cheap strategy and is looked down upon generally in the community and if its easy to beat. I do win battles with my deck but I realized listing all of my cards would just be to tedious of a process, aside from the lack of necessity.
Essentially i could use advice on this strategy, compliments or criticisms of it, flaws to it that I could try to avoid and any cards you could tell me to invest in, I mean even if you listed 60 cards I'd look them up. Just white or green mana please.
I don't want to focus on another color system just because of what I've invested in so far and I've never out grown that intrinsic childish desire to be the good guy in a game, in Red Dead I only did honorable, Fable I always do Good. I'm just like that, hahaha its silly and childish I know. But hey, this is for fun anyway. It's just a thing so that drew me to this.
Thats not to say I'm literally narrow minded or repudiate any form of mana. I've used all types but I've never excedeeded a binary deck. Like I did a balck green delve strategies and naturally, my attempt to build a delve deck but it didn't end up working out as well.
If you are interested in Commander (99 cards + 1 Legendary creature as your commander), you can check out : https://edhrec.com/commanders/gw
At the commanders tab you can select color combinations and it lists you decks and interesting cards for that color combination, some combos and basically all kinds of informations that are useful if you just want to explore a little bit into what the colors offer you.
If you want a specific theme for a commander, like lifegain , tokens or enchantments in GW, you can pick one and get a bunch of cards that work well with that.
