Hey everyone, I hope I am posting in the right place. I am looking for help in building a deck that I would like to take to my local card shop tournaments for Modern. I was playing someone the other day and they were using a card called living end. It seemed they were able to get it out really fast, I built a deck on Xmage using my version of Living End, but can never seem to get it off fast enough. Im hoping someone can take a look at my deck list and help me out. Currently no sideboard, have not gotten that far. I built 2 different decks with slightly different creatures, will post both decks below.
The entire idea is to dump cards to my graveyard, then bring em back with living end. I like the second deck better, I find having Lotleth troll helps me dump multiple creature cards to my graveyard, which also gives me a large monster with regen to swing away with while I try and get living end off. My issue is I have a hard time getting it off in a quick enough amount of time. Any ideas on how I can last longer into late game? Or get it off faster?
Anyway, Cycling does two things for you: it gets creatures into your graveyard and draws you a card. Hopefully that card is another cycler that you can put into the graveyard and so the process continues.
The other thing with Living End in Modern that you are missing is the Cascade spells. That is, Demonic Dread and Violent Outburst. Outburst is the stronger of the two due to being an instant and not needing a target. Cascade lets you reveal cards from your library until you hit something with CMC 2 or less. As luck would have it, Living End's CMC is 0 so you get to cast it right away. No waiting for Suspend counters to tick down. This does mean you need to tailor your deck around it so that means no other spells that are CMC 2 or less (so, no Lotleth Troll or Rats) but generally speaking, that deck will be much more explosive than the deck you are running now.
The problem you face is that you are missing the "CHEAT ENGINE" that allows living end to become lightning fast, Cascade.
Cascade allows living end to be played at real-time speed ignoring suspend and without the 4 mana cost.
One popular card with cascade is Violent Outburst which is three the same with Ardent Plea.
The way it works is you then reveal cards until you find a non-land with a lower mana cost. When people build the deck, they make sure that Living End is the ONLY card with a mana cost under 3 so you automatically reveal it and get to play it immediately.

The biggest things to note are that the deck gets creatures into the graveyard via cycling and casts Living End for "free".
So cards like Street Wraith, Architects of Will (not sure if the Modern deck still plays these), Archfiend of Ifnir, Deadshot Minotaur and so on. There are some good ones from Amonket that I think replaced some of the ones I mentioned.
