So, I've run into a problem. I figure one of these is inauthentic. There's some slight differences to the font that I can't quite put my finger on. But what really set me off is the look of the background in the text box. They BOTH have a pattern in the image itself.
Now, I've compared to lands in other sets. I have an idea which is the fake, but Wizards does seems to have some slight variance from set-to-set. To make matters more complicated, I have now seen at least two with each of these patterns.
So without biasing by telling you what I think, I'm just going to ask: which of these two is fake? (Note that they are in slightly different cases and taken with a cell-phone camera, so color accuracy is not going to be identical.)
Mine looks like the one on the left, but I do wonder what counterfeiter would be interested in duplicating cards worth less than $30 and didn't even break $50 at their peak.
I've not compared with other regions. I have compared to a Kessig Wolf Run, Nykthos, and a Tec Edge (C14). These cards more closely resemble B, though it's actually tough to see it in the image. In each of them, they are pentagons or hexagons of alternating color dots/streaks (which seem to not be captured on my camera at that zoom, but are visible through a loupe. A has a grey/brown diamond dot pattern, as shown.
This has me tend to think A is the forgery, but since I've now seen two that look like A and BlazingRagnarok has one that looks the same, and also I've seen 3 of B, it makes me wonder if the amount of EMA forgeries is substantial (whichever version it is). I also seen two fake EMA Karakas (easier to spot, but still pretty close at a glance--in those, it was some off shading in the artist line that made it obvious).
Rudy from Alpha Investments has a video talking about WotC using two physical printing machines on M25. EMA is only two years ago? I can see the same scenario here.
Not saying your suspect cards are real. I wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't pointed out having seen more than one.
That suspect image does raise some questions though.

Seriously can you compare the patterning with other lands, preferably from different regions/languages?
Art is life itself.
