I recently purchase a copy of Intuition from Tempest. Upon close inspection I noticed lots of white dots in the border which I believe should be all black. I've compared this to a copy of my lotus petal for reference.
Yep. it's a fake. There are also some problems with the set symbol and the beveled edges shown in the pics. Early version of the chinese fakes if I'm not mistaken. The card should also feel different from normal magic cards, more plasticy and more shiny.
The early fakes used uncorrected scans as their data and used rich black instead of solid balck on the black borders.
Card is fake, but not because of the white dots. Dots, though very dimmed and grayish are always there in black border when you use loupe on normal legitimate cards. Beveling and alignment of borders is the thing that makes this card fake. If you compare alignment with the original card scan, you should see obvious misplacement of borders, mana symbol, art box, set symbol, etc etc, which happens when the cards is reconstructed with software. It is a chinese fake.
Be very careful when explaining why card is fake. Rosettes can vary, colors can vary, feel of card can vary, etc etc, but card can still be legit.
