One advantage the TTRPG community has over the MTG community is that it's really easy and inexpensive for a playgroup to switch gaming systems and just carry on. Much more difficult to do with a giant collection of cards.
Luckily I own enough cards to play the game for the rest of my life and not need to acquire any further cards, even though I will.
Kinda sounded like D&D players have a much easier time fighting back against Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro than Magic players do. Wonder why that is? Maybe there's more passion for D&D than there is Magic? D&D came first after all so it would make sense. D&D doesn't cost as much money to keep up with like Magic does and isn't penalized as much in terms of power creep issues that we constantly see within Magic. D&D has a way to deal with problems much easier than what Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro makes it out to be for Magic which wouldn't be a problem If they actually just did their job like they're supposed to. They neglect feedback from message board forums while ONLY listening to feedback from Social Media platforms like Twitter and reddit.
Often times it feels like Magic is treated worse than D&D even though they're based on two different tabletop gaming models. The closest thing Magic has to simulating the Role-Playing Game experience you get from D&D is really through EDH / Commander and Cube due to the multiplayer aspect that it has. D&D makes it feel more tame while not feeling like you're in an arms race to see who wins or whose spent the most amount of money in order to win when winning isn't always everything as it's supposed to mainly be about having fun. Nobody wants to feel like they have Stockholm Syndrome playing a tabletop game because If everyone isn't having fun playing then what's the point of playing right?

I know some D&D players that aren't happy about this choice and were talking about just not supporting WotC anymore but I guess we'll see where this goes. I guess a good thing about TTRPGs is you can play whatever version you like and don't need to keep up with the newest release
I wish the MTG community would unite and put up a united front but this isn't a RPG. RPG's are based on players minds and imaginations, rules can be arbitrary and flexible. MTG is bound by strict rules printed on pieces of cardboard. No deviation from those rules are allowed. It is a chessboard with changing pieces that if you pay more you may indeed win more. On top of that those changing pieces are treated like stocks and traded like them as well. Until players quit paying stupid amounts of money for little pieces of cardboard (to "win" at all costs) nothing is going to change.
I don't like it, but that is the reality of the situation.
I will be looking into Sorcery when they finally get around to printing their Unlimited/Beta edition this year at some point. I hope others will do the same.

The thing is, is that it's possible to play Magic and at the same time not support WOTC. If you at the Old School 93/93 and Premodern formats for example. These are formats that are player driven and run, and they are formats that WOTC doesn't explicitly print cards to. The fact is, is that it's possible to play Magic without ever engaging in new products if you want to do so.
I have spent ridiculous amounts on individual cards. Not for the sake of winning more, but to build up a collection. Buying older cards on the secondary market doesn't support WOTC, it supports the LGSs.(and yes I am aware that buying new singles does support WOTC de facto)
The Magic community could boycott WOTC, but the fact is that "MTG community" is a misnomer, we are multiple communities with varied ways with which we engage the game. The same holds true for the D&D community, but the difference is that WOTC pissed off the part of the D&D community that is the most financially engaged. There are tons of D&D groups that are completely unaffected by WOTC's decisions and could care less one way or another. When I play D&D I'm playing a mix of 1st and 2nd Editions, no need for papa Hasbro subsidiary products for my group.
It's be cool if Magic players could have the ability to influence WOTC's decisions, but the very nature of the game makes that improbable.
Even If you buy older cards on the Secondary Market as a means of not supporting Wizards of the Coast, Local Game Stores are still getting screwed over by them printing 75 Secret Lairs direct-to-consumer instead of in reprint sets like Dominaria Remastered which is the preferred model. So it's a Catch-22, damned If you do, damned If you don't kind of scenario. Then there's also their partnership with Amazon making matters worse as well. Wizards of the Coast has been overprinting so much Paper Magic product that Local Game Stores and Big Box Retailers are unable to keep up forcing Wizards of the Coast to dump all the un-ordered pallets of product on Amazon marked off at a 50% discount. They've been reprinting so many cards that it's affecting their ability to design good original cards that aren't just variants of pre-existing cards that are specifically designed to create "playsets" of differently named cards in EDH / Commander. Mondrak, Glory Dominus is really just Anointed Procession.
As for the Magic Community possibly boycotting Wizards of the Coast, "Magic Community" is a misnomer as it's almost difficult to engage the game in a way that doesn't put more money in Wizards of the Coast's pockets. Take Whales for example. Tell me there's a scenario in which they buy sealed product to flip money for or to play booster draft or sealed with their friends without Wizards of the Coast taking a cut of the money through some kind of tax. Players who want to boycott Wizards of the Coast are forced not to attend Pre-Release Events and Sanctioned Tournaments at WPN stores because otherwise they would attain that money in that way. If players are being monetized off of Arena then that can also spell trouble for us trying to fight back against Wizards of the Coast as well. Wizards of the Coast knows they can make money off Secret Lairs due to FOMO because the less that are bought directly from Wizards of the Coast the more it dries up supply within the Secondary Market.

WarMachinePrime is right. This is apples to oranges. The entire reason for the change they made was to try and get in on the money being made outside of their direct control. The way people interact with the game is completely different on literally every level. It would be interesting to see the magic community actually unite over something as evidenced by the 30th-anniversary celebration there is nowhere with anything resembling a united voice. The echo chambers built by social media let you feel like you are part of some majority but it's becoming increasingly obvious that everyone is part of a modestly sized minority at best.

What If Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro knew that the Magic community would've united over Magic 30th with Dominaria Remastered already planned for release two years in advance? If it hadn't been for Dominaria Remastered I think the amount of backlash against Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro would've been far worse than what it was seeing as collectors would've gotten the better end of celebrating the game's 30th anniversary while leaving out the players entirely. At least they were smart enough to cover their own tracks to the point where it wouldn't upset the shareholders and corporate suits at Hasbro to where their stock price on Wall Street would've lowered far below what initially occurred.

I haven't really heard anything about Sorcery at my locals where I'm starting to see Yu-Gi-Oh! make a resurgence with Cardfight!! Vanguard continuing to lose support. Digimon CCG and One Piece CCG seems to be doing well where as with Magic it's mostly EDH / Commander. My friends and I recently got into the UniVersus TCG which is actually pretty fun. It covers a wide array of Intellectual Properties currently focusing on My Hero Academia at the moment. Flesh and Blood TCG pretty much died same with MetaZoo which I still believe is a blatant Pokémon TCG rip-off. Weird time for Paper Trading Card Games / Collectible Card Games that aren't Digital Exclusive though Disney's Lorcana TCG might be something to look forward to.

Sorcery has been designed to have the look and feel of MTG at the beginning 1993. Old school artwork, original MTG artists, booster box packaging that evokes the original 93/94 booster boxes. About the only thing missing are thin plastic wrappers instead of mylar ones. I am really interested in this game that solves a couple of the issues Magic has (namely lands/resources). It isn't perfect for sure but it seems a breath of fresh air and a throwback to simpler times. Just wish I would have known about it sooner so I could have gotten in on the Kickstarter.
I have zero interest in cartoony and childish Yugioh, Pokemon, Metazoo or whatever Manga/Anime flavor of the month CCG pops up. Sorcery scratches that itch, and I hope it does to others as well and serves as a wake up call to WotC. It won't but I can always hope and vote with my own wallet.

The reason the DND community held their own while MTG generally does not is for the very same reason that a stance must be taken in the first place: Greed.
The DND community demonstrated solidarity, because it recognized the wider implications and broad, encompassing impact of the OGL on their game and overall experience. They focused on the big picture and long term longevity of their hobby, prioritizing that above all else. In MTG, we were faced with the very same upheaval with Magic 30th Edition. But in MTG, players are so consumed with their own self-interest and turning profit, even at the expense of their own community, experience, and game itself, that there were still opportunists that purchased Magic 30th, in an attempt to capitalize on its scarcity and potential future desirability. The fact even a single copy of that product sold, is ultimately a failure in the requisite solidarity that the DND community exercised. A secondary market and gambling aspect to MTG make taking such unified stances more challenging, if individuals do not have their priorities straight. Still, I think enough of a statement was made by M30, although I resent it wasn't even more profound.

Probably the competitive and tournament part of Magic is like that, but EDH is actually much more similar in D&D freedom (which is not exactly nothing considering that Commander is the current format most played worldwide across Magic fans, by admission on WotC herself, making nowadays almost all MTG products specifically aimed at commander players). In EDH every playgroup can change any rules or banlist of magic they want with the Rule 0 philosphy and proxies are highly encouraged, destroying completely all the "collectible / high price entry" issue and in kitchen table envinroment nobody check or cares if you play with real cards or changes the rules at all. Having a good social experience is more important than having a good collection or win-rate in your LGS. Rule 0 extend to the point that Some people even make their own custom cards and decks, which is similar to the process of the D&D party making their own adventure and lore instead of following the official manual ones. Which is I guess why EDH players aren't even angry directly at WotC most of the times, they will basically do the ***** they want to do anyway for the rest of their lives with the game, even if WotC would just bankrupt today.
What are your thoughts on Flesh and Blood TCG compared to Sorcery?
Originally I found it intriguing but the gameplay is a bit too far removed from the MTG style of play I am accustomed to. Secondly I found out that the cards were printed in China, a big no-no for me. (Not sure where Sorcery cards are printed BTW) Lastly it seems FaB wants to puke out a new set about as often as MTG does. Too much to keep up with initially. New games should slow roll the expansion sets out initially then pick up speed as they become established. Vomiting out set after set reeks of desperation. Just my own opinion.
(Just found out FaB is now printed in US, Belgium and Japan)

Commander/EDH players are not blameless. I don't think you are saying that, but they are indeed part of the problem as well. The incessant need to push WotC for new Commanders that do everything under the Sun has led to WotC cramming Commander material into sets and products where it doesn't belong. So many multi color Legends anymore that it renders the tag "Legendary" meaningless.

Commander/EDH players are not blameless. I don't think you are saying that, but they are indeed part of the problem as well.
What problem and what blame exactly?
Lets say me and my friends are EDH players. We play almost exclusively EDH and buy EDH products. Maybe we even spend money more than the average modern or standard player because we like to make many decks and we're not interested on other formats. What is our fault in that? That we play and support only one format and WotC please our requests? Really this makes me and my friends the problem? What is the alternative? "Stop enjoying so much what you enjoy"? For real?
I am just saying that EDH players are the ones that can always give a middle finger to any WotC decisions at any time, because of the nature itself of the format, WotC has very little grasp on the infinite ramifications of edh community and playgroups, since we don't need an LGS, tournaments, expensive staples or even real cards for that matter, in order to have fun with Magic. Our system works and that's also why is so successful.
Magic is not the same because of EDH? As always, Magic changes constantly and evolves with the needs of the players. Many times Magic risked to die because of the drastical changes it had in all those years (creation of standard format, 6th edition rules changes, the creation of the planeswalker cards etc) and even with all the radical changes is still Magic. You can choose to adapt to what Magic is now and find your niche or just leave the game if doesnt please you anymore, but blaming EDH players for your personal frustrations with the state of the game doesn't seem a constructive solution to me.
I said in my post, read it again but I will repeat it below...
The incessant need to push WotC for new Commanders that do everything under the Sun has led to WotC cramming Commander material into sets and products where it doesn't belong. So many multi color Legends anymore that it renders the tag "Legendary" meaningless.
I can't be more clear than that. Again Commander players aren't blameless they are part of the problem as well. Note I didn't say all or most of the problem, please don't be so defensive. I am part of the problem and I don't play Commander. Everyone who plays the game may indeed be part of the problem. Denying it doesn't solve anything. That denial is ALSO part of the problem. Deny it until you are blue in the face but it won't solve anything. Truth is hard to hear, but it is necessary! Denial is not constructive either. I have adapted since 1994 and will continue to adapt. I will be playing this game long after you leave it in some form or manner.

You don't need to ever make a purchase from Wizards to play a lifetime of D&D.
Thinking about it, I've played both D&D and Magic both for about 20 years. Wizards has made plenty of money off the Magic. Off the D&D? One set of new books was purchased one time when third edition released.
So it makes sense an amoral, capitalistic greed-machine would try to squeeze more pennies out of D&D. Frankly, people don't even need Wizards for that game. With Magic, they can just keep squeezing, and money will keep falling out. At least for now.
The recent power creep is scary though. That's stuff that can kill a game.

Correct on all counts.
Majority of the blame lays on WotC/Hasbro but then there is some blame that can be laid at the feet of everyone else who purchases any MtG product either new or secondhand. To varying degrees of course. Yet again this is apples to oranges. D&D can indeed be easilty played with zero investment. You could at MtG but it requires the dreaded P-word, replica cardboard that shall not be named.

I honestly don't see how that is such a big deal. First of all, I don't see how a higher percentage of legends is bad : legendary is a drawback mechanic and greatly helps to keep in check power creep problems as a balancing tool, from a mechanical viewpoint, so the more, the better. Second, flavorwise, more legends mean also more chance to flesh out the lore of the game through the cards and that's a positive thing, since pre-commander times so many and many interesting characters were (and are still) without any cards to represent them (right Crucius? Pontifex? Taysir? etc), and EDH is a great opportunity to make them part of the game and not only the lore.
Third, the upsides of the commander format rising for gameplay benefits are IMHO much highers than the "downsides" you are showing. For example, the reason of why WotC decided to errata cards that has functional Surveil and Landfall but was not spelled out in the card, was for the reason to make this cards play better in eternal formats in sinergy with other cards that mention said mechanic (like Surveil), and EDH is a big part of it. It's the same reason we now see many mechanic as 1-of even in Premiere Sets (like ONE having Flashback and Affinity), now Designers have the freedom to push a set design complexity, because exactly of EDH players that are used to complexity in the format where all sets in magic history are legal. (and as usual, I'm not making up this, but is for explicit admission of WotC, here's Gavin Verhey saying exactly these things) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUTysFUNdjc
You don't like this new direction of Magic? Yeah cool that's fine. But for god's sake, don't have such dramatical take that all this for Magic future is objectively and absolute terrible and EDH players and formats should be blamed of things you simply don't like that you label as severe game health problems, because the only one that sounds delusional here is actually you.

So it turns out that the REAL reason why Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro tried to extend their reach over to Dungeons & Dragons was because they wanted to boost revenue after a terrible Q4 from the amount of backlash Magic 30th got and as an end result is laying off 15% of their employees which is about 1,000 people. They still intend on creating a new Open Game License (OGL) for Dungeons & Dragons but it will not include a royalty structure or give itself access to intellectual properties made by third-party content creators so that might actually be a good thing for the D&D community at large.
The real question is what does this mean for Magic: The Gathering? Obviously Dominaria Remastered didn't make up for the amount of money Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro lost from Magic 30th due to market inflation weighing on consumers wallets especially since it's a limited print run like Time Spiral Remastered so that didn't help matters much either. Either my LGS was completely sold out of Dominaria Remastered or they just decided to order less product from their distributor (hopefully not from Amazon) while stocking up on card singles for the set.
Also whose willing to bet that Hasbro will play the "Get Out of Jail Free" card in Monopoly (another IP they own) for Wizards of the Coast again by fudging the numbers when they report on their Q4 earnings on February 16th? How long can Wizards of the Coast continue to lie to their stockholders and corporate suits at Hasbro? You know what WarMachinePrime might of been onto something. Maybe Elon Musk needs to step in just like he did on Twitter. Sadly Elon Musk doesn't care enough about "Fine Luxury Cardboard Rectangles" to even consider taking on Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro at this point.

Your thoughts on FaB vs Sorcery, first impressions?
I haven't actually seen Sorcery TCG product first hand so it's hard for me to make the comparison to Flesh and Blood TCG. Gameplay wise I feel that Flesh and Blood TCG is too fast paced but I like how it doesn't open itself up to degenerate combo decks like Magic: The Gathering has a terrible habit of doing as a way to avoid power creep issues while remaining consistent with appealing to not only collectors and players but for the Local Game Store (LGS) which is how the game itself got it's namesake. Sorcery TCG sounds to me like it's mainly trying to appeal to those who've enjoyed the way Magic: The Gathering was played 30 years ago before they changed direction which isn't a bad thing in fact I think that's what Richard Garfield was trying to accomplish with KeyForge in regards to the ideal draft experience the game once had.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)

See that's where you're wrong. The EDH Community and Playgroups NEED the LGS in order to survive when the main problem is that there's no real draw to keep them there in the first place. It's much easier for competitive formats to draw in new players at LGSs but it's much harder when it comes to EDH / Commander due to wanting to stay within a casual mindset. Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro simply refuses to work directly with the cEDH community in helping to bridge the gap that the format has and that's another problem. Players don't want to pay a premium on their mana base to compete with EDH / Commander decks at tournaments I get that but at least Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro should figure out a solution to where the barrier to entry isn't as much of a problem as it is.
Perhaps it's banning more cards or by allowing proxies that players aren't able to afford. I feel like EDH / Commander players have recently developed this false sense of entitlement where they think they're better than what made Magic what it is today when it's not true. The answer isn't by creating more echo chambers by isolating the Magic Community further than what it already has even through Social Media outlets. The EDH Rules Committee trying to cut ties with Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro in regards to EDH / Commander only makes themselves just as bad. Sure they can promote, market, and sell product for the format but they don't want to have anything to do with making the format grow at LGSs to actually get new people into the game like what Standard was initially intended for.

At this point, who really "needs" new cards and game mechanics to enjoy these games anyway?
Magic Players and Dungeon Masters of the Megaverse Unite!
I used to be a demigod, but now I'm an omnimage
Luckily I own enough cards to play the game for the rest of my life and not need to acquire any further cards, even though I will.

|| UW Jace, Vyn's Prodigy UW || UG Kenessos, Priest of Thassa (feat. Arixmethes) UG ||
Cards I still want to see created:
|| Olantin, Lost City || Pavios and Thanasis || Choryu ||

My 1570 card cube (no longer updated)
My 415 Peasant+ Artifact and Enchantment Cube
Ever-Expanding "Just throw it in" cube.

(and as usual, I'm not making up this, but is for explicit admission of WotC, here's Gavin Verhey saying exactly these things) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUTysFUNdjc
