Hello everyone! I’d like to start by thanking anyone that spends time replying this thread. I recently purchased sealed boosters from the original Zendikar. I know about the Priceless treasure possibility. But something I’ve read and heard is that only the 1st printing of Zendikar has a chance of a priceless treasure card. What does it mean? Does 1st printing mean the original Zendikar block? Or somehow it means the first boxes during certain period of time printed in this block? If so, does anyone know how to make sure a Zendikar booster or box is the 1st printing? I recently got 25 sealed packs in Chinese. Thank you, everyone!
“First Printing” means the first wave of a set. An average standard set is released in waves. WOTC prints and releases “X” amount of a given set at a time. The first printing is released for the initial drop, when those supplies get low WOTC prints more.
The priceless treasures are going to only be in that first run. I do not know if they are in foreign language boosters or not. Buying loose boosters is the worst way of trying to find them, for multiple reasons.
You’d need to see the box they came out of to tell which print run those packs are from. Someone else will have to explain exactly how you tell the difference.
Loose boosters are often sold after a box has been “mapped” out and the money cards opened. Those remaining boosters will more than likely just have average to bulk rares in them. And I’m pretty certain that anyone holding onto first printing boxes/packs would not be selling them as a lot online. Any seller who knowingly has first printing boxes will be selling them at a premium.
The treasures are exceedingly rare, so much so that at the time many people thought it wasn’t true. So odds are you’re not going to just randomly find any in loose packs.
