That means as the Prinary products they are banking hard that New Capenna and Commander Legends: BG are going to be top sellers and competitive at least between them, to out do Innistrad Double Feature & over 100 million dollar Kamigawa in Q1, Double Masters 2022, Jumpstart 2022, and Dominaria United in Q3, and Brothers War, Warhammer Commander Decks, and Unfinity in Q4.
That's serious stiff competition, so why do you think WotC thinks Q2 will out compete the other quarters?
A bunch of European countries opened up for LGS sell again from Covid, they closed down for quite a while.
So that will give them a boost for sure.
Then they ramped up the price tag for product, making it more expensive, so even if they sell the same or slightly less, its still more profit.
The set themselves , at least Baldurs Gate has the added "advertisement" bonus that the video game gets, how big that will be, questionable, but certainly something.
All the other things have similar nostalgia vibes in Brothers war, so they expect it to be a hot product like Dominaria was, potentially, depends if they put in something interesting, certainly not a failure, as some people will buy into it for nostalgia alone (all the Urza-fanboys).
Jumpstart was a catastrophy in supply and took forever to get to the customers.
But they put in some mythic rares that are in high demand for Commander and make them so mega rare and hard to get, and ONLY in the Jumpstart packs, that the product sells on that reason alone, pathetic but thats how it is (as the vast majority of Jump start is crap and worthless, but that just spikes up the value of the very few cards that are playable even more, especially if they run into supply issues again, which bottlenecks the supply on demand, further spiking prices up further, might be intentionally even, if they do it again).
----
Lot of product, which all comes down to how much money customers are STILL going to put into the game, as there are quite a few mega whales that just buy absolutely anything, and spend multiple thousand of bucks each year, the truly addicted victims of WotC (and when they crash and burn, they sell their collections with massive losses, happened so often its crazy).
I am interested when the critical point is reached where player fatigue is going to hit the breaks and people just skip sets entirely.
A bunch of stores and places got burned quite hard with Crimson Vow, which had abysmal value and sold extremely poorly on its singles, so that product was a massive money dump , while other sets like Kamigawa could profit on the weebs alone.

I also think that they are also betting on the Secret Lairs of Q2 too, to cash in on the LGBTQ+ version just revealed, which seems to have alot of positivity around it ahead of Pride Month. And to be fair, the card selection is okay and it is some every nice art

I believe this is already happening. I know personally I have scaled back my new product purchasing a fair amount. I see a lot of Standard product sitting on shelves and MJ Holdings seems to selling quite a bit more of their Mystery boxed product of boosters that are pulled from shelves at rotation and then sold to them.

If I had to guess, Baldurs Gate will have more than one mythic that makes Jeweled Lotus look responsible and not like a cheap cash grab. Kamigawa is the only recent set that has leaned on being fantastic over being power creeped to hell in the mythic slot and I doubt that they are counting on a set without Standard and Modern legal cards to beat that. They had to know that Capenna looks fine but isn't going to break any records, so that statement from them really does seem to translate to 'Balburs Gate is going to be a near mandatory purchase for people wanting to keep up in the Commander that will exist after'

New Capenna Set Booster Boxes might do alot better the you think, it had one of the best runs I've seen a standard set do during the Professor's Booster Box game, largely based on Triomes and The List, amoung few other things like Planeswalkers and Bootleggers stash.
But otherwise I agree, they must be banking on CLB to sell extremely well, and that means they stacked the set with my major chase cards.
The Bond Lands are competitive in value to Triomes for example.
