I have recently installed MTGO, and got my free gift from CardHoarder. I built a Dimir Faeries list -Ninja of the Deep Hours and a few other 0.5 ticket+ items cause **** paying 4$ for a common. Well, I just lost ALL my ******* beginning Play Points to this tourney, and I AM NOT SPENDING 10$ JUST TO ******* LOSE AGAIN. Is there ANY ******* way to play MTGO without bankrupting myself/taking a loan from the bank? (If they'd even give me a loan anymore(Credit scores in the ******* 400s).) Oh, and the main part of this, any way of getting Play Points/Tickets without needing to spend $$$.
Let's not forget the New To MTGO areas are a ******* joke. Half an hour+ for a match for MAYBE 5 play points. It;s like you have to be either
A. a ******* millionaire
or B. Financially irresponsible
to get anywhere as a noob.
Might be totally fine for you either way, to simply play a bit and pay nothing for it, kinda like kitchen table magic with proxy cards.
MTGO is so old, people play it for years and used it to Draft and play-test for tournaments, right now, its still used, but the vast majority of casuals will simply use MTG-Arena and even Streamers and the like are pushed into that program, like it or not.
But as you seem to be, some casual digital games might be more than enough for you.

For just some fun games its totally not necessary.

(basically a table-top simulator, no rules or anything, you play it all)

(Another way is to play with actual paper cards and a webcam, works totally fine as well, its how a lot of people play in Corona times)
Some janky setups:

There are also some software tools to make that even better.
