Hi,
I wonder where's the exile in MTG world (if it could be a place).
It's not a plan, because PW cannot travel through the exile.
Permanent in exile can return to the battlefield with some effects, (Ephemerate, Misthollow Griffin), so it's more like graveyard.
Exile is not a univocal concept, anyone could describe what he believe.
If anyone has information or has any thoughts on "where the exile is in the MTG world".
Thanks per advance.
Even blinking represents quick jaunts to elsewhere/nowhere before returning.
It’s possible that we’ll see a set in the future where exile gets more meaning in the same way that the graveyard is linked to the underworld in Theros. To be certain, exile was strongly linked with Eldrazi corruption (if not a place) in Battle for Zendikar.
As Rosy Dompling stared there is no one single definition of Exile because many cards treat it differently. From specifically being somewhere else to specifically not existing(anymore or for a moment). It also means under magical imprisonment and killed such that there are no remains.
If you need an answer then you will get a vague answer and the best is probably "not here" as in there is no trace of this thing here. That should safely cover how every card uses exile.
And then there are effects where exile doesn't mean anything, it's just used as a temporary holding place (see, for example, the cascade mechanic or the madness mechanic)

“Gone” may mean that they are literally gone, as the spells path to exile, exile, swords to plowshares, or cast out
If may imply vanishing altogether as with Merciless Eviction or Final Judgment. Cards like Return to Dust and Eat to Extinction represent a very thorough manner of destruction that leaves nothing left.
