As soon as you stop making blatantly false statements "Modern is a natural disaster of a competitive format" "Modern is not worth playing" or any of the other inane things you spout as fact when they quite clearly are not, the sure, I'll drop it.
So, go ahead, and drop your false crusade, based on your opinions and feelings without a shred of measurable basis, and we will have no issues.
EDIT: Look over your posts. You flip the script, talk about conflicting things, and generally do not ARGUE anything. You state things which are demonstrably false or are subjective, as if they are fact, all over this forum, and I know I'm not the only one who has commented on the dubious state of your claims.

Congratulations, you have uncovered the deepest secret of the universe. People have opinions. They change with time. Honestly, I'd have to go see what posts you are talking about to even address those accusations and again you are derailing the thread when I tried to get it back on track again.
Also, no modern really isn't worth playing for a great many people. That's not a false accusation, it's basically true. You want to dance around price as not being a limiting factor or the fact that it can be difficult or next to impossible to get into it depending on the meta one has at their FNM. To be frank the fact you have such a strong reaction to the accusations is suggesting a lot of things on your end as well.
Do you talk to anyone outside this forum about modern? Do you even talk to people at your LGS or twitter, or reddit? Where exactly are you drawing your own view from? People really don't play it much these days where I live and those that I have ran into play it more as a casual rule set. There is modern night at the LGS and there are a subsection of players that do enjoy the format, but the same could be said of Legacy at this point. I looked at providing proof of these things on this forum, but ultimately I came to the conclusion it just wasn't worth it.
Here's the only thing at the end of the day that matters. You enjoy modern and you don't need to defend or prove anything on that. The format exists, it's supported by LGSs everywhere, and even if there isn't droves of people all running to modern night that doesn't make playing modern any less enjoyable.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Yes Colt, I talk to others about Modern. I have 2 shops, one does them all, one ONLY plays Modern, with a wide range of decks.
While I accept others have different views and opinions, you seem to be implying that my view is impossible to hold? Why?
Wizards of the Coast. Oh gods, Wizards of the coast. There's nothing wrong with your view as you live in a community that has a strong modern. All the problems I have with the format are caused by that parent company being interested in self sabotage of every format they seem to want to run recently.

Modern is like watching a thunderstorm roll in from the sea... a beautiful disaster.
Finding modern events can very hard, particularly for new stores, my closest modern night ended when twin got banned and half the people lost thier decks, then eldrazi sapped peoples will to play the format. So modern night became standard night and it just easier to get players to play it, haven't had any trouble finding players for a standard night.
Modern night is starting again but on a night I am busy :'(.
I haven't played Standard, or any Magic at all, in about a year. But this set looks juicy, so I'm certainly leaning to getting back into it.
As a primarily Control player, the fact that we're getting Essence Scatter, big draw spells, and Cycling all back into Standard seems like a it'll be a great time to be playing. The bigger my hand, the happier I am.

They also threw in a God that basically is all about having cards in hand and is a 5/5 flier. I've been trying out building around him in casual to see if I could get a deck going and it does look promising with things like Rogue Refiner, Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, and Glint-sleeve Siphoner. I'm also rather intrigued by the new Nissa, steward of elements as a card in some kind of creature ramp or maybe a grindy creature feature. Unfortunately, I'm still not going into standard since the spells other than creatures are really underwhelming.

Everyone says there are no answers. What if they just printed Counterspell, Lightning Bolt, Doom Blade, Path to Exile and ... I don't know, a functional Tormod's Crypt? Those are all many times reprinted, and we know they aren't broken. Would that just turn it into mini-legacy? Would that be a bad thing?
No it wouldn't, Many of these cards WERE staples back in the day, Bolt, Counterspell, Path (dark banishing/terror but I like doom blade too)all were originally "format glue" that kept the format stable. Much like how Force of Will and wasteland work in Legacy I would feel more happy if you threw in Stone rain but would definitely be a good starting point!

Cards from Amonkhet that are going into that prior mentioned casual build for now include Kefnet the mindful, Cartouche of Knowledge, and Trial of Ambition.
