I was just curious as to what format everyone played in. I've been playing for a little over a year in Multiplayer casual. It's mostly between my fiance and I. We build decks from all different sets throughout the years and play. Most of our decks would be illegal as far as tournament goes but we enjoy this non-restrictive form of gameplay. What does everyone else use?
I play Modern primarily. I keep a standard deck around for Game Days, Legacy when there are actually people to play with (2 cards away from having my deck complete), and a little bit of commander every now and then.

I'm a bigger fan of EDH, mainly because I have a dedicated group that play frequently, but I play modern occasionally. And it's only modern by association not format type. My decks where standard years ago, but would be considered modern by today's restrictions.
My favorite format is EDH. Its relatively easy to get started in, the games always prove to be interesting(Unless Rafiq is involved), and I like the deck-building style. Other then that, I play a smattering of modern or standard decks, none are competitive since I haven't tried going to a game store event yet. Recently I've also tried to get into pauper.
basically Modern. it's so diverse and interesting, no FNM is the same. the competitive metagame is fun to pay attention to and it slowly filters down into grass-roots stores. plus it's by far the most fun format to watch on stream or in coverage. it's got proper depth to it.
I do play EHD, and love my Jaya Ballard deck, but it's very rare that other people want to commit the time to playing, so 99% of the time it's modern.

My local store in amersham pretty much only does modern and legacy. They do drafts too but they are very unpopular. The large demand is modern to the point that they had 72 modern players last sunday playing and had no room more for people.
I need to move to England.
I play Modern primarily. It's what's available to me, although admittedly, my shop shut down recently. So, I've been going to other places and considering going more into other formats. I still consider myself a "Modern only" player.
Legacy is a format that I would play nearly as much as Modern, but it just isn't available. However, some shops have been doing tournaments recently and despite being over 50 mi away, it's nice to go once a week!
I would never play any of the current Standard formats other than to try to qualify for an RPTQ or Pro Tour. I'm pretty much the same on Limited, but I prefer it to Standard. I recently played in my first PPTQ in Limited, which outside of another PPTQ a year ago, was my first Limited play since Born of the Gods sort of killed it. I lost in the first round of the top 8 to a superior deck. But it was better than the other Limited PPTQ, where I was 4-2-1 at.
Vintage is something I am interested in. I used to play nothing but Vintage for years because I thought Standard was just underpowered crap. I just don't have time or extra funds to invest right now. Not to mention, it's nearly impossible to find anyone to play.
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
I mainly play EDH/Commander and Standard draft. I used to play more Modern but I've been on a bit of a hiatus from it. I plan to draft Modern Masters 2017, though.

You can generally find people on Cockatrice (free) or Magic Online (scale of hundreds instead of tens of thousands). Or if you ask on our Vintage forum, you may get a response that way.

I tried Cockatrice before. There's too many special buttons for drawing a card, etc. I played a match vs. someone playing a terrible deck, but he got super mad at me because I was taking too long trying to figure out how to draw a card. The sad part was that I was about to win, despite missing 3 draw steps.
Not to mention, MTGO is terrible from what I've heard. I may eventually get into to do Vintage, Holiday, and Legacy Cube Drafts, but that's where my limit would be (for now).

I play both Commander and competitive Modern weekly. Commander is usually at a friend's house or local brewery with gaming tables. Haven't been able to make it out as often anymore between teaching in the day and grad school night classes. With the state of Modern, I prioritize Commander with friends.
EDH is my favourite! Pauper is super fun, for quick games. I'd like to get into modern but I don't really have much of a community in the town I'm in, so no one really plays modern at all. Standard seems okay at times but holy, not for the price of any good deck.

Mostly EDH and Cube, though I do occasionally play limited events. Modern and Legacy are too expensive for me to try to keep up with (though I'm close to having a T2 modern deck finished), and standard moves too fast for me to care much about it.
