Hey! X-Mas is right around the corner and I'm still deciding which one to ask for. I'm more on the Fat Pack because it has everything I need. Lands, boosters, dice and storage. Are there any good reasons to get the event deck rather than the fat pack?
Well, the event deck has a lot of value and makes for good trading fodder. On the other hand, you will will not get that Kiora, Master of the Depths you want. Other things to consider:
Event Deck: Predetermined cards that make a deck--good overall value
Fat pack: Random cards (probably less value)--fun to open, may not make a deck however--some supplies (box and dice)--a bunch of full art lands.

Sig by Dark Night Cavalier at Heroes of the Plane Studios!
If the event deck had a Kiora in it, I would have one by now. lol
Anyway, why can't a fat pack make a deck? It has 9 boosters and lands right? As a starter a fat pack would be better for me am I right? Thanks
You could make a deck out of the fat pack cards, but it will likely not be as synergistic as the event deck. If you really need a deck to play, the event deck is a better option.
However, if you just want some cool nee cards, the fat pack is the way to go. Full art lands are beautiful and the storage and deck boxes are nice additions. If you already have a deck and just want to upgrade it or try a few new cards, the fat pack is better.
Also, consider the Clash Pack too, if you haven't already. It has two playable decks (not completely standard legal, mind you, but containing many good standard legal cards).
I got the event deck and it's really good value for the money. BFZ looks a lot better than it really is right now due to standard, so if you are asking which thing to get based on value you are 100% better off with the ultimate sacrifice event deck. However, if you want the Full art land pack, life counter die, and spare box with the booster packs... I'd probably split a booster box of BFZ and get a 3rd party storage container.
Yeah I just can't in good conscience tell someone that a fat pack is worth it. Even with a BFZ full art land pack, it's almost better to get the full arts online as then you can get the ones you like.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
