I'm one of 4 regular hosts of a weekly casual-centric Magic podcast known as The Mana Pool. We're the type of players who truly love the game (each of us has been playing for well over 10 years, and not very often on any "competitive" level), and most of all we love having fun with it. Our interests and passions have manifested in producing a regular podcast (and intermittent other content) primarily meant to entertain. There are a million other podcasts out there seeking to be "informative" or even "educational", but Magic is something we just inherently enjoy for it's own sake, and that's the kind of product we've been doing our best to create over the years. Let me tell you, it's very entertaining to work on, and a lot of other people seem to really enjoy what we're putting out there as well. We've even made quite a number of amazing new friends in the process, which has been awesome.
I'm not going to waste your time trying to recount the full scope of what we're up to, but the big-picture version of the story is that we've been doing this for about 7 years now, are still having an awesome time doing it, and have plans for even more cool stuff in the near and mid-future (by the time the far future comes around, our Robot Overlords will have outlawed fun, so there's not much of a point there). Head over to the website and check it all out!
I'm really not good at stuff like this, but I hope this post wasn't stupid and that it will help us reach out to even more potential friends and fans looking for some quality entertainment.
Thanks for reading!

So some regular forum members and I have been working on an EDH-oriented podcast. We recorded our first episode a couple weeks ago. Still some technical issues to iron out, but check it out:
Radio host/freelance VO artist here, been doing that for about as long as I've been playing Magic (close to 10 years), been meaning to start an M:TG podcast, because I think it would be a lot of fun, I enjoy broadcasting and have better equipment than most of the other podcasts, so it will sound much more professional, assuming we ourselves sound like we know what we're talking about. I almost exclusively play Standard competitively, and monitor it very closely. That or general Magic news would be my preference.
I have phone recording equipment, so ideally it would be myself and 2 co-hosts, and at certain times one co-host and one guest (developer, player, commentator, w/e).
Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while but never posted so hello I guess.
I found this kickstarter on reddit and I really liked it so I thought I'd come and share it here for you guys to see.
I can't post links yet, but if you go to kickstarter and search rusted friend or wooden it will come up.
They are pretty cool wooden deck boxes and they come in multiple stain colors.
I'm definitely getting one for my omnath edh.
It's my hope that the above petition can make its way throughout the community. If you want another un-set, take 5 minutes out of your day and sign the petition, then share it with your friends, share it on twitter, and anywhere else you can think of!
So tell me, when they release a new Un-Set, will you buy a booster box? Or a display?
If your answer is "No", then you just proved the point why there's no 3rd un-set yet. People don't buy that stuff except for novelty, it's no long-term seller unlike regular sets.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
A petition doesn't seem particularly useful. Most importantly, the guy who would be in charge of the drive behind a third Un-set (both for getting it greenlit and actually creating it) is Mark Rosewater, and he already wants to make a third Un-set!
A petition doesn't seem particularly useful. Most importantly, the guy who would be in charge of the drive behind a third Un-set (both for getting it greenlit and actually creating it) is Mark Rosewater, and he already wants to make a third Un-set!
And that's why giving Mark some way to show that there are players who loved the Un-sets will help him to sell this to his bosses/Hasbro accountants.
I have bought about 5 boxes of Unglued, 4-5 boxes of Unhinged and would buy a reasonable amount of the new set. To be fair, I did use lot of the Unhinged to run drafts and lot of the Unglued I sold forward, as my hometown didn't have a card store, so I was the only supply of Unglued in town, but I do have regular sets of both and a foil Unhinged set waiting for a perfect time to add some cards into casual decks.
I also use Booster Tutor in Commander, whenever other players allow it and would love to get another as well rounded set as Unhinged was for drafting purposes. I absolutely loved 2x Kamigawa 1x Unhinged -drafts. It even worked both ways, starting with unhinged or ending with it. The strategies availlable were great and seeing Wordmail on Isamaru, Hound of Konda on turn two was pretty brutal, but not too reliable. Take that Tarmogoyf Funnily the one card feared most was Enter the Dungeaon as it overcharged BR decks to really absurd levels... Really good times.
Calling all MTG players! I have came up with a poker chip that will be used in place of dice for keeping track of how many counters a permanent has on it. I also have a Do Not Untap Chip that will be used to remind you that a permanent is not to untap in your next untap step.
This thread is not asking for donations it is simply just a YouTube video of the video that will be used in my campaign. The campaign is currently under review by Kickstarter and I want to let people know about it before launch day, which is expected to be on January 27th.
If you like the idea please share the video or this thread on any social media platform that you use, any exposure will be much appreciated. Feel free to comment below about any ideas that could make this better or for constructive criticism. I appreciate you taking time to read about my Kickstarter. Hey everyone! Like you, I play Magic, and like you, I hate it when I can't cast my spells. So I looked online to find resources on how many lands to play, and the best I could find was Frank Karsten's excellent analysis here. However, while his analysis is great, I still wanted a tool that would allow me to do more fine tuning. Since I couldn't find such a tool, I decided to make one.
Land counter lets you put in your deck makeup, and it calculates the chances of you being able to cast certain spells by any turn. It works by running 1000 simulations.
This is the first version, but if there is a lot of interest, I might add in more functionality (taking into account tapped lands, ability to import decks and see average turn you can cast all spells, actually make land suggestions, etc).
Give it a whirl and tell me what you think...
TLDR: Go here , find out how often you can cast your spells.

Hey guys,
My friend Paul and I decided to do a weekly Legacy Podcast. Check us out! We will have a website up and running soon. We are just doing this for fun since we enjoy playing Legacy so much.
I'm the co-host of Ludology, a podcast dedicated to discussing game design.
On our latest episode, #98, we interview Richard Garfield. Discussion include his design philosophy, his experience designing and commercializing Magic: The Gathering, as well as the design of Netrunner, Robo Rally, and King of Tokyo.
I've created a set guide for MTG which includes sets like Alpha Cut 4th Ed, Introductory 4th Ed, Summer Magic, Rinascimento, Collectors Ed, and more, in addition to all bases sets and expansions. Has features such as sorting, visual examples, clickable attributes that highlight the appropriate visuals, and it's printable with appropriate pages breaks.
Hey guys I am working on a program for twitch and Magic streams. It will be for streamers/viewers to play magic oriented family feud. I assume they would do so between rounds or just in general for fun.
Here is where I need your help. Please give all suggestions for Questions related to Magic for people to be surveyed on. I will add the best ones to the program and your responses. So reply with your Question(s). And then please PM me with your answer to each of the questions. PM so that others do not see the replies.
If no one has seen Family Feud. People are surveyed and asked questions. Then you (the player) try to guess the top answers that people gave for the questions.
Thanks a lot! I will also link the program when its complete if that is allowed.

So, basically you want us to come up with a question like "Who is the best planeswalkers" and then give you one answer via PM? And then you aggregate all this into a twitch show? It seems like it could be difficult to get 2 "families" of 5 to compete for bragging rites? Is there a real prize for the winner?

Currently offering 2 non-foil Kolighan's Command for a Date Stamped foil!

Yes to the first part basically. Would like everyone that replies to send answers to all the questions posted here so that there will be more content.
I plan to allow anyone to use this program with their stream if they like. Viewers will just join in or mods can add them to the game if they prefer to do it that way. If there is a prize or not would be up to the streamer.
I created a site, Complete MTG Sets, to sell complete sets like I'd been doing on eBay. To try and drum up some interest (and for fun), I decided to have a giveaway on the Facebook page for a complete set of DTK! The contest will be running until April 20 and you can read the full details on the page.
The goal is to have a few best- and worst-ofs for each issue. I've already run through a few but could use your help! Please add your own notes for whatever issues you have lying around!
I love this, I was a big fan of InQuest back when I first started playing. I have some issues somewhere including issue #100. I may try to contribute if I can locate them.
