I thought from the name and flavor text this was intended to be a Mind Control for a creature and equipment with one spell, but that can only be used if the creature were equipped, and you can't equip it to anything else. (Which would probably be more expensive than UU.)
But only Goblins are stupid enough, most creatures would let go. I guess it's not as good an example of a flavor fail as I thought. It's just that the name and flavor text says, "The creature doesn't drop the equipment! Isn't that funny!" and the rules text says, "Just kidding, the creature drops the equipment."
I'd consider Wrath of God being printed in Theros block to be an even bigger flavor fail. Theros has "gods", not "God". It's a card from the early days of Magic, and I've always interpreted it as being a reference to either the Judeo-Christian God or at least some form of fictional monotheistic society.

Formerly Angrypossum over at the now-defunct WotC forums.
Two-card fail: Tsabo Tavoc and Gerrard Capashen. In the story, Gerrard kills Tsabo. Not only can that not happen here, but it fails on every conceivable level!
7/4 first strike versus 3/4
protection from legends against a legend
"destroy target legend"
Similarly, Sarkhan saying the khans of the past are stronger than the khans of today. Let's find out, shall we?
Note that I'm just looking at their P/T and combat-relevant keywords (e.g., first strike, indestructible) in a vacuum (so no double strike for Shu Yun or extra counters for Daghatar).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Actually, from a gamplay perspective, almost all of the fate khans are much, much stronger.
With Ruric Thar, it's part of the "Ruric Thar loves to fight" thing. So he has "attacks and blocks each turn if able", vigilance, and reach. It's a very Melvin-type thing.

It does counter Flash, though.

Indestructible Aura is neither. LOL
On further note, Golgari Longlegs is clearly inspired by a Silt Strider from TES: Morrowind.
And both were possibly inspired by the Landstriders from Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal

Your point would be perfectly valid except for this art. (Along with the flavor text) Otherwise I completely agree with you.

I'm aware of that printing, but I'm not much of a fan of it =P. It feels forced. Heliod is "a god", not "God".
Anger of the Gods is a much more flavorful sweeper for Theros.
Golgari Scavenge

"I will stop your magic from forming and then see the future."

That last line is too awesome.
Also, Maelstrom wanderer isn't 5 colors.

I didn't get it. Maelstrom Djinn is monocolored and Maelstrom Pulse is BG.
And I bet if the khans in FTR were mythics they would be much, much stronger than the khans in KTK.
