So what's the best way to liquidate your collection? I'm trying to remove myself from the game as much as possible, no one wants to trade for my cards, the friend I pool with is extremely unreliable, I frequently have to buy commons from the store because he never lets me come over, and I just really don't enjoy the game anymore.
So, how does one sell their collection effectively?
eBay, Craigslist, MTGSalvation's Market Street, or Google search a MTG card store that's willing to buy your cards (in bulk). Two stores I can endorse are CardKingdom and TrollAndToad. I've had good experiences with them before.
Well... what do you have, and how much do you have?
When you say "a collection" do you mean an archive of powerful modern and legacy staples, or do you mean a binder filled with standard cards that just rotated that nobody wants?
I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.
It's just a handful of standard rares between 0-$22 each. Maybe like 25 rares, I don't see the point in trying to move bulk commons, but I'd like to get something for the couple dozen rares I have.
Yep. With such a small amount, unless you already use ebay for selling other things you own, it's worth it to take the 50% hit and just sell them to a dealer/store and be done with it.
I am local in OKC and am looking to buylist a number of cards this weekend in person at the GP.
They are mostly Rav/TSP/ and Lor block commons and uncommons, and casual rares, that have shot up in value over the years due to casual/competitive appeal and scarcity.
I was pointed towards Troll and Toad, but they will not be attending. SCG is not attending either. ABUgames has awful buylist prices on these cards.
Anyone, including buyers from any vendor that will be there, who can recommend a buyer who will take this kind of stuff off my hands at the going rates? Any advice will be appreciated.
As an aside, anyone know why the two of the biggest vendors will not be attending? I know OKC seems random and obscure to people, but the city is centrally located in the US and is closer to the rest of the country than any of the Texas cities that have hosted GPs, and all of those have gotten turnouts in the 800-1000 range.
I sell my cards to our LGS 15% lower than the online value as my way of supporting the LGS. I don't buy boosters that often nor do I join tournaments frequently but I do hangout there often to play.
