You can also just add some variant of Soul Warden to your Ghave, Guru of Spores EDH deck; you're almost guaranteed to have an infinite creature combo or ten in there already, even if you didn't plan it that way.
For those interested, my basic Ghave infinite combo uses
The current Standard allows for Boros Reckoner, Azorius Charm, and Boros Charm. All you need to do is have a direct damage spell ready. Give the Reckoner lifelink and indestructible, then use direct damage on him. Infinite life, and you get to hit your opponent for whatever the spell did. (I already miss Curse of Bloodletting, which would make this infinite damage too.)
(I'm not counting Exquisite Blood/Sanguine Bond, thank you very much. Your opponent tends to die, so it's not infinite. On the flip side, if your opponent has Platinum Angel or Phyrexian Unlife, you can't stop Blood Bond, so the game ends in a draw.)
I think the point of this thread was highest life total barring infinite combos. Everyone knows there are around 20ish ways to get infinite life via certain cards working together.
This thread is about using other cards to get a very high life total but earning that life in chunks like 25 here 50 more here etc... Otherwise this thread would just be about everyone comboing off which I can tell you most players have done at least once if they have been playing for quite a while.
well i have had a heath amount of 264 so i had like 20 maina and 15 creatures my oppenet had about 8 mania and 4 creatures so i keep gaining life from a river hoope when i had nine cards in my libary i used niss genis mages -10 and played most of them then i let my oppent mil out
Meh... it's a really old topic but sounds kind of fun. I had an insanely janky combo deck about two decades ago that used Ornithopter, Empyrial Armor, Howling Mine, Soldevi Digger, Delif's Cone, and Library of Leng. I was playing against a deck that used CoPs and a few Angels. I kept throwing my Thopter into his CoPs and sac'ing Cone then using Soldevi to get it back.
I didn't have anything worth casting and he would have protected himself anyways. I gained so much life that we just kind of gave up and considered the game a tie.
That was the only time that deck ever fired off like it was supposed to. I disassembled the deck later that fall(?) after I moved to the city. There's a long story surrounding that but that's not here or there.
Any "highest number of X you had" stories are kind of undercut by the fact that infinite combos occur frequently in Magic.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
