When I first started playing I had 1 of the plastic boxes divided into 6 spaces. I started alphabetizing them in the beggining so it was easier than trying to start later. When I outgrew 1, I moved to 2 and as my collection grew I moved on up to what I have now. I use 2 of these one for creatures and one for non-creature spells. Each one has 12 of these (2 for each color, artifacts, and gold) alphabetized.
I keep my cards in a coffee table with drawers and a class top (that lets you see into the drawers) if i where more organized I'd be able to see all my cards and find what i want before taking the whole thing out, but as it is, it's basically a pile of cards that I can look at. Now I feel embarrassed
My Standard rares are in a small, 4-pocket folder sorted by colour.
My non-Standard rares and all uncommons are in another binder with the 9-pocket sleeves sorted by RARITY-COLOUR.
My commons are sorted in two Fat Pack boxes. I used to have about ten, but I used most of them in a Menger Sponge castle.
Commons and uncommons by colour, then set. Rares in a binder with duplicates in a line/page. Foils & DCI/FNM/Judge Promos/MPR go in with the rares

But nothing compares to Tarmogoyf. He was an anomaly, like Neo in the Matrix. In fact, one time I saw a Tarmogoyf stop bullets in midair, then fly off the table around the room a bit before winning the game.
My commons and uncommons I keep together, organised alphabetically in boxes for ease of retrieval. I never put more than two cards to a pocket (one on each side) in my binder. I just put duplicates in consecutive pockets. Space isn't an issue because I use removable sleeves and have a very thick folder. Because keeping a binder alphabetised is very time-consuming, I just organise it by color: White, blue, black, red, green, multi, land, artifact. With a one-page art shrine at the front.
Commons and Uncommons in a 4 row box (cause no store here sells 5 rows!) and rares in a binder of course. Because of the uneven amount of rows I'm always using extra 1000 card boxes or something stupid.
commons and uncommons up to zendikar put in color orginized in about 3 of the thousand size boxed I dont have very much time so now i just put my rares and valuble uncommons in this way
Junk( exp: vizzerdrix)

I put my commons/uncommons in 800 count card boxes divided into land, color, artifact, and art. creature by pieces of paper.
Foils, Promos, Rares, and good uncommons (Kor Firewalker) go into my binder. They are sorted into the following grouping of pages: Foils, Promos (MPR, FNM, Box, etc.), Green, Red, White, Blue, Black, Multicolor, Land, and Uncommons.
Everything is in three binders organized by rarity and color, yeah I don't have a crap ton of cards. Standard, rares, and shinier cards are in one binder, uncommon and common un-standard cards in the other. Lands, tokens, and rules texts are in the final binder. Unused cases are in a fat pack box.

Each set has a folder that is in Colour & Alphabetical order.
The folder holds a playset for each card (4 cards to a pocket - yes this can stretch the pockets a bit).
Then the rest go into a large box simply sorted by colour.
Commons/uncommons in a box thats organized colour (WUBRG, artifacts, multicolour, non-basic lands, basic lands, tokens) -> creature/noncreature -> CMC. However I'm considering sorting by set as well as my collection expands.
In my opinion if you have cash, you are not a bum, you are an adventurer. Bums are poor and eat dead birds on the side of the road cuz they have no other options.
I eat dead birds at the side of the road, they call it KFC over here.
However, in today's culture of Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore, and Twilight, where every song on the radio, every program on television and every site on the internet is just another monument to the pinnacle of human stupidity, it's certainly not the worst thing that people could be watching.
I have a binder that holds my somewhat valuable cards for trading, 4 (or 5) booster boxes full of crappy cards back home and of course my decks in deck boxes.
EDIT: Oh and my binder is a mess. Im too lazy to keep it organized. About once a month I organize it, or when I buy dozens of boosters and I have to put the good cards somewhere quickly so they'll stay NM.
Any rare or very good/usefull/expensive card goes in a binder, (3 totall), everything else goes into booster boxes. I carry decks to school in hard plastic notecard boxes but use fatpack boxes when i go somewhere just to play.
How does everybody do it? This is a pretty stupid question but I find my cards are always in a mess. It's quite annoying organizing them. They seem to be all over the place. Curious how everybody else does it. Post a picture perhaps?
i used to put all my cards in a box, sorted by card type, then subsorted by rarity in alphabetical order
never took me more than a minute to find a specific card
Lost my camera, so no go on the picture.
I organize mine in 4 ways.
1. All the "Bad" cards go in my M10 booster box that I got a while ago.
2. All my uncommons/wanted commons (lightning bolt, doom blade, etc) go in an old Yugioh promotional tin (this is the equivalent to an MTG Fatpack)
3. All my decks go in deckboxes, and the cards I am considering adding to those decks (usually about 30 cards per deck, I'm constantly modifying them) are kept beside those deckboxes in neat piles.
4. Rares, foil cards, and tokens are kept in my Garruk V. Lilliana deck boxes.
My collection is kinda small, but I'll eventually move my rares into a binder. This method has worked well for me, cause I have all the cards I'd want if I ever built alternate decks in a tin, so I don't have to sort through pages of bad commons.
I just keep everything bar binder stuff in boxes, alphabetised but with no other organisation. I found that this is much quicker than organising by set, color or rarity then alphabetising.
Everything standard legal goes into my Zendikar box, everything else is set, then color, coded and put into boxes. Rares, shinies, and funny cards all go into their respective binders. I also have a binder with all my collections: the Martyrs from Coldsnap, the Replicas from Mirrodin, the Spellbombs, the Magemarks, the Leylines, etc.
One box of all the random commons and uncommons that aren't in decks (with a few sets of useful ones kept separate)
All the rares that aren't in decks are in one big rubber band, my non-basic lands that aren't in decks each are in a small box, and all my decks are in a big box.
Heh, I use binders based on rarity. For rares, I have a trade binder organized by color (WUBRG, then hybrids, multicolors, artifacts and lands). Uncommons get their own binders, and commons have a binder for each color.
I was hoping for some advice from all of you people out there who have collections of certain types of cards! I'm slowly building my collection of dragon cards and I've ran into a problem. I wanted to keep my foil dragons in deck sleeves to not only make them look better, but also to better protect them from binder wear. I didn't want to go with clear sleeves because they get bent up too easily and make it look as if the card is damaged. The problem with deck sleeves is, once I get the front of a page filled, it's nearly impossible to fill up the back side. The sleeved cards just won't fit in and I'm afraid forcing them in will bend or warp the cards.
What do you guys do? Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Should I just skip the back sides of pages and only fill up the front? Does anyone have any foil dragons they don't want?
I collect pre-release Stone-Tongue Basilisk
My non-Standard rares and all uncommons are in another binder with the 9-pocket sleeves sorted by RARITY-COLOUR.
