I'm not exactly sure which part of the forum this would go to [I'd rather not flood the Vintage boards!] so I decided to post it here.
I am going to a Vintage proxy tournament [.50 for each proxy beyond 10, up to 25]. I'm going to need all 25 proxies. However, I'm wondering what kind of proxy I could use, and how to make them?
I checked out the proxy making thread and I'm still confused. Do you print them out, then attach them somehow to another card? Or should you use acetone to bleach out a card with a similar frame and mana cost and write it in? Some advice would be mega-appreciated!

I'll be calling the store later today to clear it up. I'm pretty sure they're going to be allowing everything except the regular proxies [you know, stuff you can just print off magiccards.info] and sharpie proxies.
Almost always, the correct method is to take a basic land (preferably from Revised or 4th edition) and write the details of the card you're making a proxy of on it with a fine point sharpie. I don't think any TO will mind if you do that. Just be careful to make sure that you include all of the relevant text of the card.

Ohh, OK! I'll still call to make sure. It would be awesome if I could do that so I don't have to spend time bleaching any cards or whatever!

This is typically the preferred method as writing with a sharpie will have negligible effects on the qualities of the card. It look, feel, and shuffle just like any other card (as any proxy should).
If you're worried about messing up your cards with a sharpie, you can instead go to magic.tcgplayer.com, find the card you want to proxy, go to the bottom of the page, and there is an option to print off either 1,2,3, or 4 proxies. They will be the exact size of a card and you just have to slip a land in a sleeve backwards and slip the proxie in the window. But you'd want to be sure with your TO if you can do prints first.

Warning: Tapering of evidence may cause Erwin Schrodinger to kill you like a cat in a box. Maybe....
Putting a piece of paper in the sleeve together with the card makes it noticeably thicker which may get you a DQ for marking cards.
The best easy way is to erase [acetone on q-tip works well] most info from the card you're going to use and fill it with a THIN sharpie. Printing on a blanked card is also possible but it takes a lot of work.
Are there other ways of doing it besides acetone? I would rather take some time and blank out a welding jar to put in info on black lotus instead of writing on a basic land. I'm just not sure if I have acetone.

Yeah, I'd get DQ'd for that. I think there's a way to attach it on the card [ripping the face of it off first] but I don't know how to do that.
You can do that, but it's honestly more work than most TOs expect. Really all you need to do is write the info directly on a basic land for most tournaments.

I am no longer on MTGS staff, so please don't contact me asking me to do staff things. :|

No it doesn't. I've played in several proxy tourneys with printed proxies over lands in sleeves, and every single one allowed them. The judges basically looked at the deck and tried to cut to proxied cards, asked random payers to cut to proxied cards, and NO ONE could do it with any predictability. I've never recieved any warning or DQ for using them, and that's over at least 10 different proxy tournaments with probably close to 15 judges spread across them.
i print mine out then carefully using boxing tape to tape it to an existing card that doesnt really matter to me. extra lands or some cards that i dont play. they great thing about doing this is they still shuffle and play like a regular card.
