Thanks, again. I really wish they had some kind of a running tally of votes so I knew how hard I need to be pushing people to vote every day. Luckily there's only nine days left, now.

"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
If one with Jace wins I'm going to feel like punching a baby.
5/5 for Extremeicon's design, it's very nice. I like some of the more simplistic ones, like the black/white designs with just the mana symbols. Understandable some people might be disappointed if one of those wins because of how much more you can do, but sometimes more is less Also gave http://ryzwear.com/shoe/detail/8728/black-mtg a 5/5. Especially since if I like the one that wins I'll probably buy a pair when they go in production. Hope this doesn't take too long, I could use a new pair of shoes
I, like most people, neglected to sign up for their newsletter when signing up for the site (and, thus, didn't get the email on Monday about the top five). That's good to hear.
You've still got a week to help me make it happen, people

One of the problems I had with this contest (and voting in general) etc is that they don't put everything on the same page. Quite a few Human Beings are lazy and wont go past the first few pages. My entry was one of the very first ones (other than their EXAMPLE shoe). It had good feedback, Todd even complimented it. It was one page 1 and 2 originally then got shuffled to nothingness. Using feedback is a valid criteria, but perhaps they should rotate designs through the pages so that old designs and new ones can get equal face time.
I didn't expect to WIN, but I DID expect to make top 27. Extremeicons really is a nice design, but I saw a few others that didn't make it in. I think the process needs to be looked at again. Now lets see who Won!

This contest was flawed for a few reasons:
-The finalists chosen by the panel should have been the only ones we were voting on
-There should have been some limiting factor to votes. Seemed arbitrary.
-I'm sure there is a third thing.
Despite all of this, the person and design who deserved this most probably won.

This is an interesting thing. It's always bizarre when the niche Magic world leaks anywhere into the mainstream (people who buy shoes.)
This is a really cool design and a million congrats to the winner. Glad to see you're a mtgsalvo person and again, you did a great job.
However...
I regret to say that although there were at least 20 pairs I'd buy out of the entries, this one probably won't be one of them. Although it does pinpoint Magic, it does it in a sort of non-specific safeish way.
Here's where I'm going with this:
How many more players would've bought a shoe with a specific card art reference, etc. vs. just sort of a generic magic mana symbol design? My guess is quite a few.
How many people who aren't players are going to buy this in comparison to how many would've bought a specific card art/design,etc.? My guess is negligible.
I don't really know, but speaking for myself, I don't think it screams Magic exclusively enough (on a 1337 level if you will) to make me interested in buying. They are great looking shoes though.

That's probably why they're actually producing ALL of the top 5 shoes

I'll definitely be buying a pair of my shoes but depending on what they do with the hats/shirts/etc. I might be buying one or two of the other designs as well.

I read somewhere that they're supposed to be available around the first of September. I'm not sure about the hats and shirts and bags they mention because I had no idea they were planning on making those too until I read it today.

I fully agree. I really like the Progenitus designs on black, as well ExtremeIcon you did an amazing job, I really do hope yours wins.

http://ryzwear.com/shoe/detail/7857/tidehollow-skuller looks like something I'd see at HotTopic. No thanks.
