It was about 250 to 150, one side had Respledendent Mentor, That guy that untaps to create token soldiers, and a large amount of creatures. So every turn he would make more soldiers and gain more life. The other had a 8/8 doublestriking lifelinking creature, I think it was an enchanted Figure of Destiny? The figure attacked each turn unblocked and gained tonnes of life. The game ended in the soldier token guy getting a global pump at instant speed, 280 damage directly to the opponent. Oh, and this was a draft.

Thanks for the Sig! SpiderBoy4 at [High~Light Studios]
My opponent and i were both playing token decks and we both opened with first turn essence wardens. We ended up on 200+ life but then he overwhelmed me for the win.
Very late into another game, i had 2 phyrexian arena in play and three cards in my library (they were all beacon of immortality:D), so much lifegain ensued.
Slightly on topic- This is how I beat decks like that...
Life-playing opp: "I'm at a billion. Do you scoop?"
Me: "No....my go? Okay. Living Wish."
Opp: "Sure..."
Me: "I reveal Phage the Untouchable."
Opp: "WTF."
ME: "Play Phage, pass."
Opp: "..."
I did it in a similar way at GP Boston 2005. The Life deck would go to a billion life, I would Living Wish for Ambassador Laquatus, then proceed to use the gobs of mana generated by Gaea's Cradle to deck them. The deck we had (U/G/r Opposition) was literally 90-10 against the Life deck.
For my own life total, I've never played a deck that would allow me to set it at an aribtrary number (other than in playtesting for the aforementioned GP Boston). I did play a deck during Arena circa 1999 that could get my life total really high because of the Serra Avatar-Angelic Chorus combo. The highest I remember it being was 1.86 million (I was keeping my life total with a calculator at that point). The deck splashed Green for Rancor, meaning my Serra Avatar was a 1.86m(+2)/1.86m with trample.
I got to 161 a while ago with a very long game, involving a Trained Armodon, Serra's embrace and lifelink. This was before I learned how to make real deck
A friend of mine got to over 10,000 with Turbfog - he had to play it in between each mine trigger to avoid decking himself, but was one mana short and lost. Fun times.
i got to 500 life (don't remember the exact number) in a limited game of ACR. the reason this happened is becouse i had a wall of reverence, battlegrace angel, and Jenara, Asura of war. however he had a flying creature that was 5 power or more and that guy that lets you regen 5 power or more creatures. he also had a butt load of other creatures on the feild. so i would always make jenara bigger, gain some life from lifelink, then gain from wall of reverance at eot. eventually i got that creature that becomes unblockable when you play an artifact and won the game.
Infinite. Seriously. I played against some guy and he was able to get an infinite life count using Genesis Chamber, 2 Myr Retriever's, Leonin Elder and some other card that said "sacrifice an artifact: add _ mana to your mana pool" or something like that. It wasn't KCI though you could do it with KCI.
I got 200,000 with my life gaining deck Me and my friend we Decided to start at 100 health Here's how Verdant Sun's Avatar Serra Avatar Huatli, the Sun's Heart
Millionaires, I hear it's good Music (Disclaimer: lyrics not PG-13) Thanks, CC

I used to write for MTGS, including Cranial Insertion and cube articles. Good on you if you can find those after the upgrade.
I gained 60 life in one go by Hallowing a Flamebreak...
