Art #5 would look the best as a card, but it's one of the more boring ones. Some of the others, despite how poor the art may be would easily make for more interesting cards.

"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
Anyways, 5 is the obvious choice. It's the best art there. The most flexible. And all the other pieces don't come close to touching it. Simple and elegant - easy vote here...
And for those of you interested, here's my submission:
I voted #7. I thought it was the most flexible (could be green, red, or blue, spell, creature or enchantment) card with good art. #5 had the best art, but flavor-wise there's nothing interesting about it. It'll end up being some random sorcery.
And for reference, here's my submission. I'm not too upset about not making it into the finals -- 7 or 8 of the finalists were decidedly superior to mine.

New Webcomic -- Genocide Man Life is funny. Death is funnier. Mass slaughter can be hilarious.
I voted #9, because:
1) it has potential in any color (and artifact)
2) We have no idea what's going on. Why is it floating? What is the trail of things? WTF in general?
3) I've never seen Magic art quite like this. Shouldn't we be pushing the envelope here, since this is possibly the only time something like this will happen?
#4 is my second choice (not that we get those), and #7 and #8 really caught my eye.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Decks: GW now, but probably BW or BGW after Guildpact as BW has always been my favorite color combination (and the Ghost Council is a house).
I went #4 because of the possibilities that could come from the card. The way it is constructed it could almost be any non-creature red card. Strangely enough, it could end up being some bizzare elemental creature. I not very fond of #5. It seems too bland and uninteresting.
It has very mystical look in it, and quite frankly, I like the photo-likeness similar to Kentaro. BTW is it just me or she looks a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker?
It feels more like Christina Applegate to me, I dunno.
I voted for #5 also, it looks so clean and open to so many ideas.

Remus... that's a rather cool art... I diden't vote 9... beacuse it looks like a depressed turd. I voted 5 beacuse I have a really good idea for this card... and she looks controling and a little evil... if it wins... vote White... the ability I have will give White a bit more control... also she would be a creature. (but we haven't done any spells yet... so... whatever wins is ok I guess... just not 9... *shudders*

I think that with the ability for us to have a hand in the creation of the card, we might actually get a playable mass destruction card. I dont much care about the art itself... just where it will lead us.

If we were fully "in control" of Forgotten Ancient, it would have been playable. R&D and the dev team are going to have final say on cost, if we make it too good, they will cost it appropriately.

Number 5, all the way. Not only does it look nice, but I've really wanted a white YmtC card since the beginning. This art is perfect just about any white sorcery/instant/enchantment and leaves a pretty good amount of creative freedom for the actual card abilities.
#8 isn't bad as well and stands as my second favorite piece.

Remus, the idea and concept and what's going on in your art is way more kick-ass than say, number 3 or 5 (5 is bland). However, though I would've voted for it, I think they prolly thought that the art quality was a little too almost cartoonish.
I don'twhat to vote. 4 and maybe 8 would be flexible good cards. 9 was my favorite on first reaction, but maybe it isn't right for cards. I also like 6 and 8
Wow, very nice submissions all told. My first run took me down to 4, 5, 8, & 9, with a special nod to #1 (there's something special there...I just don't know if I want it looking at me from my hand).
8 got dropped as it looked like an action card, and I have enjoyed having permanents the last two times. 9 was next to go as, cool as the art is, it just seemed like:
Plainswalk B
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature gets +2/+0 and has plainswalk. (This creature is unblockable if defending player controls any plains.)
would be the majority of the submissions if it was chosen.
4 came close...that is some completely kick-butt art with major potential.
5 won out for me. The photorealistic element combined with expert execution is very nice. The art could be for, as mentioned before, white, red, or black (doubtful on green and blue). It could be a legend, but it just as easily could be an instant or sorcery. The feel of the figure melting out of the dust behind her/channeling that into the magic spiralling off of her fingertip is absolutely fabulous. Major kudos to the artist, and here's to #5, all the way!
EDIT: Actually, I think the Dust Lady has an Alanis Morisette feel...but I voted for her anyway.
I voted for #1 cause I thought it looked like a little ghost dude (reminded me of Skulking Ghost).

When ~this~ is put into the graveyard from play, you may discard a card from your hand to put it into play at the end of turn. If you have no cards in your hand, you cannot play this ability.
5 is most likely to be white, it could be an enchatment (creature or otherwise) a sourcery/instant or a creature (or most likely legendary creature.)
judgeing by it's artwork, it will most likely effect:
1. lands
2. enchantments
3. life
then again it might be a green "enchatress" card. green can be plausable.
