As if we weren't nerdy enough already, I've been bored the past few days so I've made the beginnings of what I hope to expand into a fully printable and draftable small set. Emphasis on color balance and correct use of rarity. I'll throw out some of the cards that I've made so far and I'd love it if you guys gave some constructive criticism and throw some of your ideas out there as well.
Themes and Mechanics
The only real mechanic so far is the subtype of "Shout". Shout is a subtype that appears on multiple instants and sorceries. Each shout card currently has a mana cost and is playable on it's own. A small number of creatures have the ability to pull these cards from your deck to cast them. The formatting is as such.

Shouts would be kind of fun if they shuffled themselves back in. Kind of in the flavor of Skyrim where you just have to let them recharge. Of course you would have to fix some mana costs.
Sphinx is really good. Control will play it and be able to protect him just fine, hes a much better finisher then Jwar Isle and thats saying a lot considering how good he alone is. Bazzar Trader.dec now has 16 threaten effects. Thats really, really, really,really good. Really good.
