Block theme: Staktis is an afterlife plane. Dead legends of many worlds roam an ash-gray landscape of floating rocks, littered with dead machines and magical artifacts. Some still try to fight old wars, and perhaps even escape the plane.
The mechanics for the block are:
Unending - Whenever this card is in the graveyard, if you would draw a card, instead put it in your hand.
Rundown X - This card enters play with X use counters on it. Whenever it is tapped, either remove an use counter from it or sacrifice it.
In the second set, beacons of light appear in the sky. Ancient creatures rise, in hope that the light is an escape.
In the third set, the purpose of the beacons is discovered - powerful creatures known as Reclaimers arrive, dismantling the denizens of the afterlife into their essence.
