These are really awesome. I love the art that you used for almost all of them. If I may, I would like to offer some constructive criticism. They are are really just minor quibbles. The first is that I'm fairly certain Mother Hydra is one of the most ancient deep ones along with Father Dagon and doesn't actually look like a hydra. The other is that it seems like the Necronomicon should have some sort of discard drawback to show how it eventually causes insanity. Besides that, I think everything looks wonderfully evil even if some are a little overpowered. On an end note, any chance of seeing the Colour Out of Space soon? I know it's not going to be easy.
Mother Hydra does not, indeed, look like a hydra. Actually, she pretty much looks like Father Dagon, and I wanted variation (just so you know, the art used for that card is titled "Father Dagon" :D). Also, I liked how she was immobile in Dark corners of the earth and that's why I made her the way she is.
The Necronomicon thing is good thinking and I tried it, but ended up unnecessarily complicated. The way I see it, the more of it you read, the more insight you get and eventually you end up dead. I think I pretty much nailed that aspect, the insanity part will come later in other Mythos books.
I have a nice discarding thing for Pnakotic manuscripts, but can't get a picture.
The colors out of space will come, but again, I lack a picture. If you have any pictures ready, please send me a link.
Thanks for the reply mate.;)

Whenever a player plays a spell, if it has the same name as a card in any graveyard, choose one -- You discard a card; or you lose 2 life.
A couple of things. First, thanks for posting, I appreciate the effort, and am glad to meet another Mythos fan here. Now onto the cards:
Hounds of Tindalos:
You made them too big. Also, they should not be blue, because they display next to no intelligence to warrant the inclusion of blue, they just find victims and hunt them. Also, Hounds of Tindalos are not hounds but reptilian monsters, they are just called hounds because they track and hunt like them.
Tcho-tcho blasphemer:
Now this is good. Actually better than my own version. When I get a decent picture, I'm using your wording if you agree.
Ubbo-sathla:
Not liking it. First, as I said in the first post, all of the legendary monstrosities should have the "Great old one" clause (even if he's actually an Outer god). Second, according to the sizes of monsters I use, the thing would be somewhere in the 20/20 range, that's why I named him in the "not to do monsters" in the first post.
Book of Eibon:
First, it costs too much. 4 or 5 would do just fine. The ability is nice but I would cost it B to destroy a horror and U to counter.
The revelations of Glaaki:
Again, this is very good. I would use this wording if I get the picture.
Mordiggian:
Far too small. Father Dagon is one of the smallest GOO and he's a 6/6. I don't get the ability, to be honest. I wanted to do a Temple of Mordiggian instead of him since I have the art, but just can't get it right.
Awakened phobia:
This is a decent effect but overcosted. You either want to discard or cause damage. That card would be nice at BB.
Again, thanks for the support. 2 of your suggestions will be getting cards as soon as I get the art.
Here we go again. First of is Hound of Tindalos, a bit janky, but I find that only Provoke justifies their unnatural tracking ability. I was thinking of adding Poisonous to the thing, but they poison the creatures they hunt and limiting that to players seemed wrong. I have another art for it but I chose this one as it is clearer and not so vague. Bearer of the yellow sign was made to fit the art (to be honest), but I find it that insane petitioners of the GOO are a must. Call the great old one is a classic black tutor.
Last, I'm posting a Great old one that's a bit bigger and more powerful than Dagon/Hdra/Atlach even though I said I wouldn't. This is just to show how big and nasty they are and how big the drawbacks involved should be. Keep in mind that Shudde M'ell is by no means one of the most powerful of the lot. So, if anyone wants to post suggestions of other GOO, use this as a general guideline and the stuff I wrote in the first post.

Some more stuff. Herbert West should be known to any who have read HPL's work. For those who didn't see the movie (Reanimator, and then two sequels) and like horror, I suggest they do. Dholes (and Bholes in the dreamlands) are the biggest, nastiest (and next to unkillable) creatures of the Mythos barring some Outer gods. Their real size should be in the 30/30 range, but that's just silly, so I weakened them some.
I originally had a different idea for Formless spawn, but after seeing some of Morphling's (a member of this forum, for those who don't know him) cards, I decided to change their wording and use his design. Hope that's ok. Song of Hastur is my version of Persecute. Made that one after they decided not to reprint Persecute in Xth.

More stuff to add.
Insects from Shaggai are an iconic Mythos race. Being so small, I had to give them negligible combat stats, but their mind whip and mental attacks could paralyze opponents. Tapping is usually a white ability, but since Rathi trapper is also black, I have no problems with it.
Shantaks and Hunting horrors are both medium sized flying beasts. Shantaks are known phobia of Nightgaunts and HH for their vulnerability to light.
Servants of Glaaki could have been straight black, but since they live in a lake (and I wanted to make them a bit harder to cast) I made them multicolored.

Bizarre, insane, and definitely creepy. Having read some of Lovecraft and his "followers", I have to say I like the cards in this thread. That said, I think I'll try one I like, and see what you think.

This is actually quite a challenge, given the desire of a Magic designer to make the cards "playable" and the desire of a Mythos writer to make the Mythos creatures insanely, impossibly, and inscrutably powerful. That said, a few words in explanation for my own cards before I post a few more.
Hounds of Tindalos: In the original "Hounds of Tindalos" story, at least, they aren't wholly described. I like to think of them as "houndlike," but...
Ubbo-Sathla: Again, as far as I can see in the story, Ubbo-Sathla doesn't really do much but spawn those little creatures (and guard the Elder God tablets...). I guess 0/20 would be fine, but past 7 or 8 it's almost arbitrary.
Mordiggian: Apparently he sucks the heat out of the room when he's summoned, a personification of cold as well as ghoulish death. *shrug*
And I didn't see the additional effects on "Great Old One," I though it was just the "suspend when it dies/bounces" clause. I can fix that. Okay, more cards hopefully more in line with the OP (heh):

Why doesn't anyone read the first post?
Don't get me wrong friend, I appreciate the effort, but Hastur is a giant creature that weights over 100 tons. He should be in the 15/15 range. Also, as I said in the first post, all GOO should have the Great old one ability.
Other than that, the abilities are fine, just do not show his enormous appetite for sacrifice. Give it another try if you don't mind.

Fair enough, my turn.
Hound of Tindalos, and I quote: "those who meet them seem not to survive. A hound of Tindalos is hardly likely to look anything like a hound, but the name from the story is so evocative..."
Ubbo-Sathla. You are right, it desn't do much but spawn life. It also destroys anything it touches. It also weights 824 tons and anything it touches with its pseudopods is dissolved (hardly a power of only 1). I know that from a MTG perspective a creature with a combined P/T of 40 does not make sense, but that's how big The demiurge is. It is a god after all, even if blind and idiotic.
You are right about Mordiggian. I must say I did not read the story. Oh well, at least he should be much bigger, also, no picture of him anywhere.
Robert Blake is nice. I would lower his toughness by 1 (he's just a normal man) and reduce his cost by 1.
The haunter is also pretty good. I will make a card out of it if I find a suitable picture. Even though I was under the impression that the Trapezohedron summoned an aspect of Nyarlathotep and thought that Haunter=Nyarlathotep. But, I like the idea of Ny dispatching a demon to do his bidding.
Thanks for the contribution bro, so far at least 3 of your suggestions will be made cards.
Edit:
Re-read "The charnel god" and "Seven geases". Forgot a lot of details within it seems. Mordiggian, however, is just the god of death, the chillness around him is the death void not an anti-heat aura. The torches in the temple still burned after his arrival, even if dimmed.

Here we go again. Keziah Mason and Brown Jenkin are the villains from "The dreams in the witch house". For those interested, there is a good movie adaptation from the legendary Stuart Gordon under the same name. It was part of Showtime's Masters of horror series.
As Set suggested, I gave Colours out of space a try. They were pretty hard to do. In the story, it just drained the lifeforce from its victims, but it's actually a powerful greater race capable of melting rock with mind powers and completely impervious to bodily harm except by spells. Gnoph-keh are 6 legged beasts from the eternal snow regions (Ithaqua's domain). The Vicious hunger ability mimics their brutal attack and feeding techniques.

Some servitors of the unholy things.
Since most GOO have nameless cults worshiping them, I made some monstrous servants who are blessed with the dark gifts of their masters. Although most followers are just normal humans, some get twisted and corrupted (not to mention insane) by their influence.
Race of Ny is an exception. Nyarlathotep is worshiped by many cults on earth as well as Shantaks and Hunting horrors, but it is also said that a myriad of alien races serve some of its 1000 aspects (or masks). This is my attempt at one of these.

Deathtouch + Poisonous 3 + 1/24 (or something similar) for P/T + "Damage from ~ can't be prevented or redirected." (to ensure the poison counters go through; also valid is power of 0 and "Whenever ~ attacks and isn't blocked, defending player gets 3 poison counters.", though that's slightly borked if anyone bumps its power up temporarily) = sounds like it might hit everything here. Just an idea, though.

Your idea in not bad. However, i named Ubbo in the "not to do" list in the first post because he's just too powerful. The Deathtouch is a good suggestion, but the thing hardly moves so it should get Defender too, like Valros suggested.
Again, read the first post, there are several interesting GOO there with combined P/T values for you to create. I know everyone wants the "top dogs" but they are gods, and gods are more powerful than planeswalkers (players) themselves.
I'm dying to see what the Planeswalker cards will turn out to be. Perhaps those will be more suitable for Yog, Ubbo, Hastur and their ilk.

Another addition.
The following cards were designed by Valros, and he's getting due credit in the first post.
I made some minor changes: Revelations of Glaaki is no longer Legendary because many copies of the book exist. Robert Bloch was changed to Robert Blake to differentiate the real world person from the character in The haunter. Most Outer Gods will do better as enchantments rather then Creatures. Also, Hastur is fine at 3/3 (His power is pretty limited on Earth, as only the most sensative of Humans are affected by him)
A 3/3 with the GOO ability works just fine. Also, it works nicely with fateseal.
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
First off, I agree, most outer gods are better as spells than creatures.
Hastur is not fine at 3/3 because then most of the dream creatures I made would be useless since they never appeared in reality. A 3/3 is a freaking centaur (Nessian courser) not a demigod-like, 40 yard wide monstrosity. Any dragon is a 5/5 and they are puny compared to GOO.
Anyway, feels like most of the comments end up being related to GOO sizes. I want them to be big. Very big. Enormous. If you want them small and unable to defeat a random Loxodon hierarch, that's fine, but this is still my thread and here they will be things of mythic proportions. I based most of my sizes to Chaosim products (a normal human has 10-15 hp and Hastur over 150) and in relation to other Mtg creatures. It would be absurd to have Hastur and Shantak the same size.
I would really like more suggestions on lesser Mythos creatures and persons that appeared in the books.
I know that most HPL characters were puny, scholar types, but I'd like to see some suggestions about them anyway.
Edit:
Another thing. GOO are supposed to be very hard to summon. A 3/3 should be pretty easy. Also, 3/3's are easy do design, 12/12's are not unless you make them completely unplayable. Balancing great benefits and severe drawbacks of such cards is what I find appealing.
For example, when I designed an early concept of Ubbo-Sathla (he was a 15/25, btw) his drawback was: sacrifice all other permanents you control and discard your hand. He was a beast, granted, but a single edict or Boomerand would wreck you.
Anyway, GOO should be used as boogeymen, not as principal creatures in a deck.
Some more stuff. Cats of Ulthar are an iconic race of the dreamlands. Ghosts of Ib, on the other hand, are quite obscure. I toyed with both the Haakon, Stromgald scourge and Narcomoeba abilities on that one. Part the veil is a modified Careful study, a bit stronger to begin with but with a more serious drawback. R'lyeh is a horror bane. It originally started out as a Boseiju, who shelters all variant that made horrors uncounterable, but was out of flavor with its entrapment-like nature.

OK, I have rewritten them on cards. Hastur has changed radically, although he's accompanied by two of his alteregos, The King in Yellow and the Feaster from Afar. I've reworked their mechanics, making Hastur very fat and hard to cast, the Feaster I've treated as a Horror to justify him being smaller. (Still kind of fat though.) And I've added my version of the play as a card.

Thank you to Krashbot for supplying the graphic!
Two things I want to clear up right now, so my effort is understood in context.
1. I have read the stories of the Lovecraft mythology, so I'm not in the dark on your themes. That is why I tried to identify Chambers' The King in Yellow with Hastur the Unspeakable, as the Hastur thing began with Bierce and was reinterpreted by Robert W. Chambers and mentioned by Lovecraft.
I do not like The Return of Hastur any more than you do. I do feel conceptually that Derleth was on to something but failed to follow through, as imitators seldom succeed in doing.
2. I will try to mesh more closely with your mechanics, but I'm also experimenting a bit, if I mess up, I can take criticism. If you don't want me to post, I will stop.

I can't seem to stress this enough it seems. READ THE FIRST POST! It's like the 5th time I've said this. All GOO must have the Great old one ability.
Onto the cards. This is better.
Feaster from afar is referenced differently on the card itself. Hastur has too small of a drawback and has no evasion whatsoever. A 12/12 should at least Trample. Also, his drawback is negligible, summoning Hastur should be a near-death experience. The king in yellow as a book is quite nice, although virtually impossible to pull off.
The art is seriously lacking. From now on, could you post your ideas and let me make the card mock-ups?

Ok, but for the purpose of this thread, Hastur and The king in yellow should be considered one and the same to avoid confusion. The same would be true for The black man, The bloody tongue, Bloated woman and Nyarlathotep. That said, we should lay the GOO to rest for a bit.

Here we go again. Some removal for a change. Retaliate was inspired by the mysterious fate that awaits most scholars who read the Mythos books. Also, black could really use a nice, unconditional kill spell like that. Deep one attack was made to fit the artwork, but has a nice Innsmouth feel to it. Magnum innominandum was harder. Since many claim that it's another of Hastur's names and others that it's a completely different entity, I made a spell instead of a creature. Shows what happens when you do say its name, a seal-like variation of Eradicate. The witch trials were referenced many times in HPL's works, and the picture was nice.
I'll update again later, with some more nastiness and legendary characters.

Some more critters. Most horrors are sizable, so here's a couple of small bodied ones. Zoogs are the rulers of the Enchanted woods in the Dreamlands and sworn enemies of the Cats of Ulthar. Priest of Ghatanothoa was an attempt to create the few, demented worshipers of the volcano god with their medusa-like gaze. If I think of something better, I will modify them to be more original. The cultists are there to show the various tribes and individuals who hear the call and receive the dreams from the GOO.

Robert Blake :1mana::symu::symu:
Legendary Creature -- Human Investigator
1/3
:symtap:: Reveal the top card of your library. If it's a Horror card, destroy CARDNAME. Otherwise, put it into your hand, then discard a card.

Cassilda, Norn of Eternities :2mana::symur::symur::symur:
Legendary Creature — Outsider
:symu:, :symtap:, flip a coin: If you win the flip, remove target creature you control from the game, and return it to play under it's owner's control at end of turn. If you lose the flip, sacrifice Cassilda.
Doomed to repeat her sad song throughout the aeons, Cassilda seeks new companions to share her misery.

I don't understand why you cost your cards so much. They are all 2/2 creatures that do nothing when they cip and require additional resources for their abilities. Very, very overcosted.

The following cards were designed by Valros, and he's getting due credit in the first post.
I made some minor changes: Revelations of Glaaki is no longer Legendary because many copies of the book exist. Robert Bloch was changed to Robert Blake to differentiate the real world person from the character in The haunter. Tcho-tcho blasphemer was changed from human shaman to horror minion because they are not humans.
Thanks again Valros, hope you like them.

A 3/3 with the GOO ability works just fine. Also, it works nicely with fateseal.
• Call of Cthulhu CCG Servitor for the Netherlands!
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!

Let me know if I've improved.
Thank you to Krashbot for supplying the graphic!
Thank you to Krashbot for supplying the graphic!

Experiment away, I have no problem with that and by all means, keep posting.
