Would anything stop this from being printed? More importantly, is it Balanced? I know its nutty with Ironworks or Ashnods Alter but alot of things are.
CR502.30 handles storm, which describes it as "a triggered ability that functions while the spell is on the stack."
The rules on copying a spell (502.30i) tell us that a copy of a spell in any zone other than the stack ceases to exist. There's no reason not to apply this rule to the Lightning Rod.

Target spell or permanent's tone becomes playful.
I have to agree with Le Chat on this; if what you are trying to do is create a spell that puts 0/1 token creatures into play, and has Storm, then you're probably wise to stick with it as an Instant or Sorcery that puts token creatures into play. Otherwise, you do run into problems about what happens to the spell copies that come into play (it does run afoul of 420.5j).
Would they still come into play however? Triggering Citp effects or Leaves Play effects?
Technically? Yes, no differently than a copy of a spell is put into the graveyard after the spell finishes resolving. It's just that, shortly thereafter, it ceases to exist (or, at least, this is my understanding of what happens here). It's simply unclear what happens to a copy of a creature spell when it resolves (whether it stays in play, or ceases to exist when SBEs are checked).

It seems sort of silly to ridicule a company for marketing efforts. Of course they are going to hype upcoming products, every company on the face of the planet does it, and it works, thats why they do it. There isn't really any sense complaining about it. If you don't like the marketing, ignore it.
