"If this would leave play, remove it from the game instead. If you do, return it to play at end of turn."
This would work fine within the existing rules. As a static ability with a replacement effect, this will keep it from going to any other zone and RFG it. Then it would come back. Since you didn't make this a "May" effect, I'd just say.
"If this would leave play, remove it from the game instead. Return ~this to play at end of turn."
Since the rules also make sure that it would look for the card in the RFG zone, if you Wish for it back, then the triggered ability won't return it to play (since it is not in the correct zone).
I don't see why not, but there may br just too many confusing situations involved..
