So I think I deciphered what MCC Hammer was trying to tell us and I like the idea for the challenge, so I'm using it for this round.
Art by Howard Lyon
Once again, you travel blind eternities. Only a blink of a moment, but enough to feel an unfamiliar tug. Something's different there and you give in. As you arrive you know immediately, this is no ordinary plane. It is no plane at all. You reached a crossing. A crossing in time. If you could harness this absurdity of nature, the possibilities would be endless. You reach out and draw mana…
Main Challenge: Design a card that mentions a keyword only featured pre-8th edition and a keyword only appearing after 8th edition. This excludes Time Spiral. (See clarificiations for a list.) Challenge 1: Not a French vanilla. Challenge 2: Does not have the keywords itself.
MC: Note the 'only'. So NO keywords that appeared before AND after 8th edition. C1: "French vanilla" refers to creatures that only have keyword abilities (e.g. Akrasan Squire). C2: As in, NOT directly on the card, so that they affect only itself. If it happens to grant them via a static ability, that's fine.
So it couldn't be searched for with an effect like Mwonvuli Beast Tracker's. This one is supposed to be tricky, so consider skipping it.
Keywords that have only appeared before 8th Edition counting only core sets and regular expansion sets and excluding Time Spiral block, current evergreen keywords and keywords that are now unsupported:
Amplify
Banding
Bands with other
Buyback
Echo
Fading
Flanking
Phasing
Provoke
Rampage
Shadow
Storm
Threshold (technicially not a keyword anymore, but it used to be and we are seeing the past here, so it's all as it used to be, thus I'll allow it for the main challenge)
Keywords that have only appeared after 8th Edition counting only core sets and regular expansion sets and excluding current evergreen keywords and Time Spiral block (Note: it's very long):
Schedule:
May 06th - Round 1 submission deadline.
May 10th - Round 1 judgement deadline.
May 14th - Round 2 submission deadline.
May 1- Time deviation detected! No further scheduling possible!
Design - (X/3) Appeal: Do the different player psychographics (Timmy/Johnny/Spike) have a use for the card? (X/3) Elegance: Is the card easily understandable at a glance? Do all the flavor and mechanics combined as a whole make sense?
Development - (X/3) Viability: How well does the card fit into the color wheel? Does it break or bend the rules of the game? Is it the appropriate rarity? (X/3) Balance: Does the card have a power level appropriate for contemporary constructed/limited environments without breaking them? Does it play well in casual and multiplayer formats? Does it create or fit into a deck/archetype? Does it create an oppressive environment?
Creativity - (X/3) Uniqueness: Has a card like this ever been printed before? Does it use new mechanics, ideas, or design space? Does it combine old ideas in a new way? Overall, does it feel “fresh”? (X/3) Flavor: Does the name seem realistic for a card? Does the flavor text sound professional? Do all the flavor elements synch together to please Vorthos players?
Polish - (X/3) Quality: Points deducted for incorrect spelling, grammar, and templating. (X/2) Main Challenge: Was the main challenge satisfied? Was it approached in a unique or interesting way? Does the card fit the intent of the challenge? (X/2) Subchallenges: One point awarded per satisfied subchallenge condition.

Thanks to Time Spiral and Commander products with new cards, there are not many mechanics that have appeared only before 8th edition. Not much to work with here...
Eternal Vampire1BB
Creature - Vampire Shade (R)
Flying
Other Vampire creatures you control have Undying. (When another vampire creature you control dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it.)
Vampire creatures with one or more +1/+1 counters have Shadow. (Those creatures can block or be blocked by only creatures with shadow.) Vampires are usually immortal. This one makes them more so.
2/2
Overzealous Spiritcaller1RUG
Creature - Spirit Shaman (R)
When Bringer of Mysteries enters the battlefield, manifest the top two cards of your library.
Face-down creatures you control have Fading 3. (Those creatures enter the battlefield with 3 fade counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a fade counter from it. If you can't, sacrifice it. When they're turned face up, they lose fading.)

Enchantment (R)
As Fatesway enters the battlefield, choose either Advance or Hinder.
Advance -- The first instant or sorcery spell you cast each turn has split second.
Hinder -- The first creature that enters the battlefield under an opponent's control each turn has echo.
I would rather use Echo instead of Fading. I'll edit my entry if this ends up being allowed.
EDIT: Switched fading to phasing. Would still prefer echo, but fading would have been too wordy to do correctly. EDIT 2: Changed to Echo after all. Thanks for the clarification, doomfish. EDIT: 3 Never mind this card altogether. I'll just design something else in a new post.
New Dawn1WW
Legendary Enchantment {M}
Indestructible, phasing
When New Dawn phases in, exile all other cards named New Dawn.(This includes phased out cards.)
You can't lose the game and your opponents can't win the game. Brave the night and welcome in the new dawn.
Legacy of the ElvesBG
Tribal Enchantment - Elf (R)
Elf creatures you control have Amplify 1. (As this creature enters the battlefield, reveal any number of cards from your hand that share a creature type with it. This permanent comes into play with one +1/+1 counters on it for each card revealed this way.)
Elf creature cards in your graveyard have Scavenge BG (Exile this card from your graveyard: Put a number of +1/+1 counters equal to this card's power on target creature. Scavenge only as a sorcery.)
It would be fine if the challenge remained unchanged as long as we have a list of what actually counts: Is amplify disqualified because of Kilnmouth Dragon's reprinting? Provoke because of Vintage Masters? Rampage because of Craw Giant timeshifted?
Time is a fickle thing, so I went back and changed some things in the main challenge.
Time Spiral is now excluded from this, we'll act as if all of it never happened.
Also there's now lists of the keywords in the clarifications, thanks to bravelion.
