All that remains is decide a winner. Good luck to both contestants.
I probably should have set a deadline. My bad. But it seems the results are somewhat unanimous. Congratulations Zoomba who win the September 2014 CCL.
A few thoughts that crossed my mind reading the entries.
I found fascinating how similar these entries were. Both Rashi walkers were red and had functionally identical +1, and even more interestlingly Zoomba's 4 mana Rashi entered with less loyalty than MMM 3 mana version. I kind feel that somewhere between the two we would get the right numbers but both were solid designs.
Similarly the Farisi being black-white was also an interesting coincidence. In part the Farisi had a lot less character developement and thus a lot more flexibility. I somewhat imagine the city's setup felt very Orzhov, and perhaps WB felt right for a villian or loves order. I do love both designs and I think this challenge was the one where both contestants really excelled. Players would be excited to crack a pack and find either of these cards. And yeah, even wizards wanted a shot at entering a card for the third challenge.
As for the fourth, designing mythic removal is tough. I knew that when I set this task. I think Zoomba did a really good job here of producing a card that felt worthy of a mythic slot, while at the same time keeping it away from being a high powered, hard to get uber expensive mythic that we could have had.
A huge thanks to all participants this month (well month and a half).
